I have had my rescue Staffie for a month now.
I had never owned a dog before, and didnt have a clue about dogs.
Its one of the best things I have ever done, and I wouldnt be without her now, and my 18yr old son who tried to talk me out of getting a dog, is now totally smitten too.
She's 2 yrs old, and a total poppet.
Staffies rule!

I didnt have transport either, and got the bus and walked miles, or I got a taxi. But luckily I found her quickly.

Good luck and I hope you find a dog that makes your family complete!

If you can get hold of some industrial cardboard tubs (the card in about an inch thick) they were a god send for us, we gets bits of card on the carpet but it stopped our dog from chewing anything else.

Next door had a tiny Black Lab Pup...2 years later he is one really big, really boisterous dog but he has a great nature, sadly my Lab Cross passed away on Sunday, kids could jump on him, poke him, drag him around everywhere he couldn't care less (as long as he got a biscuit after his torturous times) Labs have a knack of sensing things whether it is moods attitudes or even more so I am sure you will have a happy future with your pup (thats if you have any furniture left within the next 2 months)
