For anyone else I'd say fair enough. But Adam has often been inappropriate be it referring to 'trolley dollies' or 'is she thick or deaf or what'? He deserves to be called on it.

As has been mentioned before, the '£1m property portfolio' could be a collection of fruit and veg warehouses with a fleet of white vans, all on a 95% mortgage.

Well obviously whatever it is, presumably it's houses, is on a mortgage, but he still owns it and earns the capital gains and rental income from that. That's how business works. You borrow other people's money and make a profit on it.

If we have feminists...what's the word for males who stand up for their own rights, oh yes, of course, there isn't one.

We can only either be sexist or chauvinist. Not Masculinist.

What is also annoying is how he picks up on what people say and repeats it in agreement. Parroting back their comments. So Lord Sugar was right to fire him (despite him arguing tooth and nail not to be). Ruby Wax was right to recognise he looked different in real life. The business bloke was right about everything he said. He's just agreeing with people to look good. In doing so he kept talking over people during the show which was also annoying. Basically he's a chameleon, he wasn't learning new things about wine and art, etc, he was simply mimicing what he saw.
”

I think he is misunderstood. He has a way of speaking which I think HE thinks is polite & respectful, yes he treats women differently to men but I think he assumes he is being polite & isn't trying to put them down. As allafix says above, he does it without realising, I think it is instinctive to him to be polite and try to flatter - well that's how he sees it. The repeating things back is another facet of this. Maybe it's a northern thing (I am from the north & it is often just the way people speak.)
And I think he was trying to give Jade the part of the task he thought she would be good at and enjoy. Which she did. Her "OMG, I've had to do EVERYTHING" rant was actually her being quite pleased with herself!
I think he is well meaning & perhaps came across differently to the way he intended. His phrasing may have offended Karren but his reasoning is usually sound.

Men have always been taken seriously and universally are in a much greater position of power, so there has been less need for one .Men can be feminists too, creating a more equal society works in both genders best interests.

If he had gone off to the lab himself then he'd have been criticised for not positioning himself at the important part of the task doing the marketing.

He said he wanted to be doing marketing because it's "important" because it was. Just because he put Jade on the other part of the task doesn't mean that he think's she can't do important.

Should they chance the rules so that you have to give all the important tasks to women?

She is rooting for Jade & while Jade does have some positive attributes, I'm not sure why Karren is being such a staunch flag-waver for her (that said, Adam was a major bellend).

Yeah right! If it had mens interests in mind as much as womens, it wouldn't be called "feminism". The clue is in the name

Humanism is the only true diplomatic stance. Calling everyone who opposes feminism "sexists" is lazy and doesn't help anything.

1. Pigs might fly
2. If he is that lacking in self-knowlege and empathy then he is a lost cause. Time he went back to his fruit and veg cave

Just because it is called 'Feminism' does not automatically mean it works only in the interests of women, the feminist movement also benefits men and campaigns for equal rights, opportunities and liberation for both women AND men. It doesn't strive to make women superior to men, just equal.

It aims to enable people to achieve their goals and ambitions without having to contend with gender barriers. This applies to men too who can pursue roles/ activities traditionally associated with females such child rearing or wearing make up or not having to worry about being the main breadwinner, without feeling like they are not masculine.

Feminism is anti patriarchy and anti misogyny, not anti male, so there is no need to be so defensive- women who claim to hate all men are just bitter and have a massive chip on their shoulder - please don't confuse them with feminists.

I don't believe I was being lazy when I suggested that people who oppose women having equal rights and opportunities to men are sexist. I still think it's a fair point

Anyway I'm sorry for the boring, long-winded post

Why - what is so special about Jade, who has the tact of a rhino and zero people skills, too bossy and domineering for me

The way he spoke to Katie early on in the series when she volunteered to be PM and he said it was very complicated was at the least patronising, but it clearly showed his attitude to women in general. He presumably thinks he's being polite, but it comes over as condescending and sexist.

I don't think "repeating back" is a Northern thing, no Northerner I've met has done it. It's Adam's way of trying to impress someone, by telling them they are right. This might work well when selling to the public where empathy with the customer is important, but it sounds weird when the person he's talking to doesn't need to be told they are right all the time by Adam.

Incorrect, saying 'Is she thick or something' is not a sexist term.

So basically youre saying that never in the history of mankind (excuse the pun), a man has never said about another man 'Is he thick or something?'

He has to say 'she' because shes female. If you don't like that term, I suggest you write to Oxford dictionary and have it changed.

I think Adam's defenders are a little disingenuous. His tone when sending Jade to make the sweets was patronising. That doesn't mean it was a bad idea to send her to do that job necessarily, but Adam's manner came across very much as "that's all she's fit for. Us men will take care of the serious business." Adam has too much form for this kind of attitude for it to be a misinterpretation. Karren was right to pick him up on it.

Star rising !!!!

She can hardly string a coherent sentence together. Her boardroom performance in the latest episode was a masterclass in mumbling incoherence.

Completely disagree. Jade is probably the strongest in the Boardroom, next to Ricky Martin. She's incredibly articulate and has talked herself out of being fired once already.

Outside the Boardroom, she's more hit and miss.

I didn't hear a patronising tone when he said it (and I listened to it not five minutes ago) though his "which I'm sure you can do" might be construed as patronising I don't think his tone was.

I Karren's remark in the boardroom completely misconstrued what Adam said and added a patroning tone where there wasn't one originally.

Karren was quite right. Adam sounded like a man born a generation ago when patronising women was acceptable. Jade was the only one who contributed anything worthwhile on their team.

All I can say is ADAM IS TOTALLY ODIOUS and a throwback to 2000 years BC - without the looks!

Karen is generally boring though right? It seems to me her job on the program is to occasionally pop up and say the most obvious thing possible. It's definitely gone down hill this year that's for sure
