Am I right in thinking that the show begins in the UK at 1am on the 28th?

9pm EST (Toronto same time zone as Eastern USA) so 2am GMT.

After Dark is 2am-5am EST, so 7am-10am GMT - good to watch while eating your Sugar Puffs!

Is it in the same timezone as the American series / livefeed from last year?

Yep; the main time zones in the US are the same main time zones in Canada.

I'm assuming that Atlantic Canada and Newfoundland will be watching at 10 and 10:30pm respectively? I know for some networks (namely the news on CBC and CTV) air their news live on Atlantic time, with Newfoundland watching along, albeit its time zone is half an hour ahead. All other timezones watch on a delay.

I've only been dipping in and out of this forum this year and not quite decided if I should get the ibVPN or not. I used it last year for BBUSA, as hotspot was having a few dramas on my pc for a couple of weeks.

Not sure if I should plunge right in and hope for the best, or wait until the stream starts and see what others think first. I think why I am a little cautious is because I know if I start watching, there is a good chance I am going to be hooked and I will be saying goodbye to a large chunk of real life until next autumn, with the US version tacked on after this one for a longer series..

An interview with the house designer - quite interesting, and confirmation there will be a Have-Not room:
http://www.hgtv.ca/blog/big-brother-canada-home-tour/

I was kind of hoping they wouldn't do the Have Not thing and just go back to basic food comps as a way to differentiate themselves from the US version, but it looks like they will be and also doing the six player Veto too - something else I was hoping would be dropped. My hopes of BB Canada taking a few much needed risks which Grodner won't with the US format are fastly fading.

BBUS is in California, on Pacific Time, 3 hours earlier than Eastern Time.

Some fun with daylight savings too in March. Think their clocks go forward at least a week earlier than here.

Sad I know, but I've just put a second clock on my desktop, set to show Eastern Standard Time.

Even though it's not completely alien to them it's so nice to see Big Brother kind of being looked at through fresh eyes, and producers who understand it's a privilege and responsibility to make the show, not just a summer job where they do things as cheaply as possible and have no respect for the shows core values.

It appears as the houseguests are already in the house, based on the photo in the corner of the website linking to the not-yet-functional live feed. I really wish BBUS and BBCAN had live launches; they're much more fun that way.

I disagree - in the case of the BBUSA format hitting the ground running makes much more sense rather than a drawn out opening where nothing other than the houseguests moving in really happens, though I suspect any live opening would end with a live HoH challenge - which would be limited by both it being live and the fact the houseguests have only just moved in.

Considering there is an eviction tomorrow I would assume the premiere will probably have the HoH challenge quite early on and end with the nominations, with the Veto being shown tomorrow ahead of the live eviction.
