I've got lots of bagels
Ocado delivered last night; I ended up with 2x 5-packs as I didn't notice it was a BOGOF offer.
I got them to have smoked salmon & Philadelphia bagels, one of my favourite things to eat. Anyone got good ideas for bagel fillings? I see on the pack they're freezable so not really a problem. |

I usually always freeze them and just have them over time.
Another filling that I really LOVE is humous, salami and red pepper (either roasted or just raw). Little deli that I used to live beside used to do them and got me hooked! |

My husband likes bacon and egg, I prefer scrambled egg with a little ketchup.

I always keep some in the freezer. One of my fav fillings is omelette with a slice of single/"burger" cheese.
Salami or a nice smoked ham with sliced gherkin and mustard is nice too. |

You can make bread and butter pudding out of left over bagels.

Slice them thinly and have them with pate. If you slice them up you realise just how much you get in a bagel - they go a long way. Great for canapes too - you can get lots of small round discs from one bagel and stick all sorts on top of them.

I've always got bagels in my freezer. One of my favourite toppings is just leftover roast chicken, shredded and mixed with mayo, lemon juice and lots of black pepper. Simple but yummy. Tuna mayo works well with bagels too.

I love them toasted with scrambled egg & chive. Oh and I like the bagel to be an onion one or one with the seeds on.

I love a toasted bagel with butter for breakfast, or at the weekend a toasted bagel topped with a slice of good ham and served with creamy scrambled egg for brunch. This is a 'knife and fork' dish, though, not a bagel filling as such. Oh, not forgetting of course the good old bacon bagel. |
