Finally, after ordering it 2 weeks ago, got my delivery text from orange tonight. Coming Monday. Someone at my work got his blue one today and it looks amazing. Im slightly regretting ordering the white one now.

Spent yesterday setting up my phone, and have to say it is a great piece of kit. The screen is amazing, no worries about it being a pentile screen. The phone is just so fast, its unbelievable. Way faster than my dersire HD, which is no surprise. Its also very light. Watched a few youtube clips on it yesterday, and they were very crisp and clear.I am not big on using the camera on the phone, so wont comment on that. Much prefer to use a proper camera if I want decent pictures. The phone camera is fine for messing around with, but not something I would use on say a holiday. Cant really comment on battery, as it needs to go through a few charge/discharge cycles before it will reach optimum performance. What I will say, is that yesterday, I used the battery from around 7pm until it died around 12:30am. This was with the screen on full brightness. The phone was pretty much on for most of this time apart, from say a couple of hours. The phone is more black than blue.

The only issue with it, is that I am unable to remove my micro sim card, as it appears to be jammed in the socket. I have rang vodafone, who will send me a replacement. I have seen a youtube clip on how to remove the sim card, if you push it in, it should 'eject' out of its slot, and then you should be able to slide it out. Mine wont eject...so unable to get at it.

Apart from this minor hiccup, the phone is a great piece of kit.

Moving up from the desire HD is a big jump to this phone, no regrets at all, throw in a great deal from vodafone, and I am one happy camper.

I've just got an S3. Got a white one, although would've preferred blue but O2 had none in stock. I'm very pleased with it but have a couple of questions:

Is it possible to completely disable the voicemail (I don't like voicemail) - if so can anyone tell me how to do it?
How do you get rid of the notifications which flash along the top? These show the first line of the text/email/message and it's visible to anyone who might be looking over your shoulder!

Thanks in anticipation

For the notification light go settings>device>notification light

For the text thing I think if you go to your inbox press the menu button, hit settings then scroll to the bottom and untick the notification box hope this helps

You can get the 32GB on contract with Vodafone UK but i'm looking to purchase outright. So does anyone know when the 32GB or 64GB S3 will be released to purchase sim-free and how much it might cost?

On another note Amazon now have 'pebble blue' to sell as do Vodafone and Orange. So the delayed 'pebble blue' seems to have been shipped to the UK.

I'm thinking of getting one. Who here has bought theirs sim free? Where did you buy it? I want a sim free one with original firmware and no branding.

I had a play with a friend's new S3 last night. It certainly a very impressive piece of technology - probably the "best" phone out there at the moment.

But, it's not for me. It's simply just too big. The weight (or lack of) is surprisingly good but I don't want to carry something that size around in my pocket.

I really dislike this trend towards ever bigger handsets. Surely there must be a gap in the market for people (like me) who want a modern, fast, smartphone but but don't want a screen any bigger than around 4".

I have spent years avoiding anything made by Apple but I'm starting to think that the iPhone (at least the current 4S) offers the best balance between performance, features, price and size.

Just curious but has anyone who've had the phone for a couple of weeks or longer noticed any dust build-up under the screens on their phone?

Try Sony Arc or Xperia range.

I know exactly what you mean. If you can't use a phone with one hand or put it in your pocket then it's not practical. They are going to be the same size as the one that guy had in the show Trigger Happy soon!

I don't agree with you mate, fanstar has an excellent point. If i don't have two hands free and i try using my one x to open an app or text a message it can get very difficult and frustrating.

I don't have small hands either. The phone is just slightly too big for me to be able to use with one hand to do everything quick and fast like i used to be able to do on my previous phone. Sure the advantages of the big screen outweigh all that but it can be a pain not being able to quickly send a text/operate the phone with one hand.

That's because it's not being sold directly by Amazon. Amazon did have it back on sale again last night with 1-3 weeks availability,so I placed an order for £499.95.

It seems all that stock has now been allocated and they no longer have it directly available again, so the price is once again £557 from a third party seller.

This will be my first Android phone and I'm looking forward to a change from the iPhone.

Loving the SGS3. It destroys everything else easily.

Mine arrived this morning, just waiting for my micro sim to arrive now...

I will say that it definitely needs a cover to protect it. My S2 has only ever had a screensaver on it and it still looks great, but I think the S3 will scratch really easily.

Maybe someone only has one hand?

My work Blackberry is perfectly usable with one hand. Pick it up or pull it out of pocket, do what you need to and put it back.

Three have it for £499. Would there be a downside in buying it from them?
