Horses/Grazing

Hi
I have the opportunity to lease a piece of land from the council, for 2 ponies. I am very interested but the lady who rents the field next door, opens up the fences for her horses to enjoy the extra grass for free!
My area is divided but the lady has 3 entire males, this is my main concern.
Is there a law on keeping stallions within a range of mares?
Laws change all the time, I realise that. Should the interior fencing be down to, land owner, land leaser or horse owner?
Thanks

Not sure about laws, but have u spoken to her? If she knows you have females she may stop doing it, I would imagine she is just taking advantage of the empty space

I don't believe there's a law, but there's no way on earth I'd keep any horses near 3 stallions. Especially if you have any mares. Especially loose in neighbouring fields. That is just asking for trouble IMO.

There aren't any laws regarding keeping stallions away from mares. What does concern me though is the lady who lets her horses freely graze on somebody elses land - is the land currently unoccupied? To avoid the stallions you'd be best putting a second fence up, preferably electric tape and about a meter in from the fence of your field, to ensure the stallions can't cover your mares over the fence. The owner/keeper of the stallions is responsible for ensuring they do not interfere with your mares.
