I noticed it last night, having flicked past BBC HD when "Olympic Highlights 3D" were just starting. This wasn't being simulcast on any other channel in 2D, yet the Olympics channel changer was still present and there was no obvious way to view in 2D.

It will fill the gap created by the closure of "Pages from Ceefax"

No need for it to be viewed live.

I'm still hoping that the BBC can correct this, like they did a while back on another issue that effected loads of kit.”

Further to my previous posts, it appears that the new red button on BBC HD channels may have been withdrawn, or suppressed for TVs like my Sony Bravia KDL-32EX724, because the new red button on BBC HD channels doesn't seem to appear or function at all now.

Hopefully, the BBC are working on it, but still no reply yet from them though.
