Not in the greatest taste there - he died two years ago.

Well if he hadn't, he wouldn't be able to beat the record, "from beyond the grave."

Somebody's going to have to explain this one to me.

If Arnold Yarrow (Belial in Death to the Daleks) is still alive he would be the next eldest having only been born 3 years after Earl Cameron

Mr Yarrow is still around. I had some correspondence with him a couple of years back. Earl Cameron is an amazing man! I spent a weekend looking after him at a signing event a couple of years ago, and he was just wonderful. Full of beans, a twinkle in the eye. What a nice man. What a gentleman.

For the record, the longest-lived DW actor is Zohra Segal (The Crusade, uncredited in Marco Polo) who died at 102.

I think it was a reference to a John Lumic line at the beginning of Rise Of The Cybermen prior to killing his assistant.

KENDRICK: Nonetheless, we need to tell them.
LUMIC: And if I don't?
KENDRICK: Well then, I'm sorry, sir, but it's my duty. I shall have to inform them.
LUMIC: And how will you do that from beyond the grave?

Could be wrong but that's how I read it.

That kind of makes sense, thanks! (I mean, as far as I can see, it has exactly the opposite meaning from what the post said, but it does explain the choice of words...)

Today marks the 50th anniversary of when the Cybermen first marched onto our screens.

Shhh, just don't mention 'Golden'.

Watched ep1 last night, for the 50th anniversary, and will watch the rest over the course of the week. Those Cybermen are so spooky.
