I add garlic to frittatas, chicken casserole, various soups etc But I dont believe that it can be added to anything - I have a friend who thinks that and it can take the authenticity out of some dishes

I dont cook to be authentic. I cook food because it tastes nice.

I wouldn't fancy it much in eggy, omlette type things myself, yet we always fry some off in the pan, then discard it, before we add the bacon for carbonara

We add garlic to everything :P It's great in stir-fries (and very cheap to make too!), if we make curry also we just add garlic when cooking the vegtables. Usually, a clove of garlic into something like a jar of curry will make very little difference to the flavour of the sauce too.

I wouldn't eat it in anything raw though. Raw garlic would over power the flavour of everything else.

I do. I love raw garlic with fennel in a salad.

I also love garlic in olives.
