Another botched Kylie release
Seriously what is wrong her management? They seem to completely botch up all her releases, the worst of course being The One fiasco, but I think once again the release of Timebomb has been treated dreadfully. Praise due for having a video ready to drop immediately, but releasing it on a Friday was a disastrous move. First of all I think the video alone should have debuted, give the track a few weeks to build up airplay and then release it on a Monday! It's at #37 on I-Tunes at the moment and falling rapidly. Also why didn't she use Alan Carr's show to plug the single as well as the interview? It will crash and burn now for the next few weeks big time. Another woulda been Kylie smash down the drain

The main problem is the lack of radio play. Neither Kylie or Parlophone can do much in the way of forcing Radio 1 and Capital to play Timebomb. It's bullsh!t and it sucks but it's the same for other artists as well. Hopefully if other radio stations start to pick her up and the song takes off then stations currently reluctant to play her will follow.
Parlophone can't really win with some of her fans. They were criticized with the handling of her past singles (being behind the times) and now they're being criticized for trying a different release tactic for her. I personally think they've used this single release as a way to test the waters for what will work for Kylie best in the future. It's great that they didn't stagger the release of Timebomb worldwide and released it on the same day as the video. I don't think the Friday release is really the issue here but more that A) the promotion hasn't been that great so far B) radio aren't playing her and C) there has been no physical release . I know physicals are seen as passé but Kylie's loyal fanbase are huge fans of physicals and this in the past have helped her singles a lot on the charts. I think All the Lovers moved from #6 to a new peak of #3 because of her physical sales. And Kylie did plug the single on Alan Carr. They showed a clip of the video and Alan introduced it as "her new single" and talked briefly about it afterwards. It was just a disappointment she never got to perform it live. Her YouTube views so far are great as is the reactionfrom fans and non-fans. Give it time, it's only been out just over a week. |

It was released on Friday for a reason. Releasing Monday would have probably given it a higher chart position but then it would have been released on a 28th.
I think that the way it's been released has been fine and hope her future singles are released in a similar way. Timebomb has had a bigger buzz surrounding it than her last few singles. The fact it's rising is a good sign too. It's only been out 9 days and appeared without fanfare. |

but it was promoted on alan carr..they played the video and spoke about it a bit..and performed on the voice (last week)
I doubt it is just about chart positions for Kylie anyway..this is about her 25 years in the business..but I do think she deserves another number 1 for sure |

Is she not performing on the Jubilee concert on Monday? That'll be some BIG promo for the song.
