In that arena, I believe it stands for Rhythm & Bass.

I can see why his music is popular for those who use music for simple entertainment, as a catalyst to dancing and background noise. Personally I find it boring, moronic, vacuous and with all the substance (and musicality) of a wet fart.

I like the stuff he produces but his solo records are not great. Heartbreaker has been the best so far. I'll give his new album a listen though.

If you listen to his albums, there's some good songs that aren't singles, and they'd become massive #1 hits if they had better lyrics and vocals on them. That exact thing happened to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRnFmHm_ANg

Also, he composed a song for this European car advert, that is going to be on his upcoming album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEzrJK7xbMo

It's a duet with Nicole Scherzinger and called Mona Lisa Smile. So based on that 30-second clip of the song, there's at least one song on his next album that isn't laden with vocal effects and electronic/dance beats. It's just guitar, drums and strings, and a pretty quiet, soothing song by the sounds of it.

'Just Can't Get Enough' was a smash, but wasn't it released in late 2010? There's obviously been a decrease in interest or else his "solo" singles would have been as big as 'Boom Boom Pow' or at least 'The Time'. I actually love his old sound and I'd like him to return to that. I honestly that he needs to stand out rather than try to fit in at this point.

the black eyed peas changed direction before many other artists followed though.

How can you not love This Is LOVE? It is such a great song no matter what you say, well in my opinion anyway.

I showed my 22 year old cousin the BEP video for "Joints & Jams" about a year ago to try and convince him that old BEP are better, his response was "where's Fergie?"

Good grief.

Yeah, Just Can't Get Enough was released late 2010, but the BEPs only started promoting it early 2011. Here's the list of the 100 biggest songs of 2011 in the US, and Just Can't Get Enough finished 10th: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboa...ingles_of_2011 It was a similar sized hit to On the Floor and Moves Like Jagger, so very successful in the US.

Only two singles that he's produced have been released since then. Don't Stop the Party, which flopped in most countries, but it's simply just a boring and generic song imo. And T.H.E, which also flopped in most countries. I think T.H.E. is a very marmite song, so you'll either love it or hate it usually.

I don't expect will.i.am to ever get a hit as big as Boom Boom Pow ever again (as a producer). It's was one of the biggest songs of the past decade in the US, so expecting anybody to out-do that is quite unrealistic imo.

will.i.am actually has a new song out next week. It's one that he produced, and it's on Usher's album (this is the 3rd song will.i.am and Usher have done together now). So we'll see how that does (although it's not a single (yet), so I'm not expecting too much). The song is called Can't Stop Won't Stop. It samples Uptown Girl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F9rf5S_Tag

Cringe, hardly anybody at all knew who BEP were until Where Is The Love came out!

Their first two albums actually reached 129 & 67 in Billboard 200 so it's not like all the general public are going to listen to them albums is it? Christ
