Tom Jones still has IT.

Age has not deteriorated his voice unlike most singing stars his age

He has as much strength and energy in his voice as he did when younger.

Well technically nothing .... but I refuse to go all goeey and weepy over a man who is far from a decent human being just because he can sing a song in tune.

Voices get better as they get older. Pavarotti didn't even get commercially famous until he was 55 or so.

I'll admit 71 is a bit more of a stretch.

Sorry, but you sound like a bitter ex-wife who belongs on Jeremy Kyle. Sure he isn't as perfect as some people make him out to be, but neither are you. Dont preach about what being a good person is when you judge somebody for something thats nothing to do with you.

The post isn't about that, it's about his voice having not deteriorated as he's aged.

Would you be happy if Gary Glitter was on? I mean we should only concentrate on his career and whether he can still sing right?

So their personal lives DO play a part in the overall package.

No one is asking you to. The thread was about the fact that he can still sing.

Wrong. Unless you're suggesting that paedophilia and marital infidelity are the same thing.

Um .. I think you're going off on something of a tangent here! Besides, Gary Glitter was always a crap singer!

He still has that beautiful quality to his voice and the musicality. The duet with Leanne was tremendous - on both their parts. It was a revelation of Leanne's ability and quality too.

Not quite on the same scale though is it? Gary Glitter broke the law repeatedly then ran away.

last time I checked, not acknowledging a child wasn't illegal

Tom Jones does still have IT.
I was never a big fan of his but a couple of years ago we went to an outdoor concert to see him. There was a band on before him and we were way, way back and could barely hear them. Then another guy came on and I'm thinking "we wasted our money" because it was like he was whispering.

Tom Jones came on and that MASSIVE voice just belted out in the late night air. Cheers went out and the atmosphere was electric for the next hour and a half. The power in his voice is amazing.
