The most boring man alive? I feel for the guy. It must be a result of working on GMTV. There can be no other explanation for someone his age being so dull.

I always found that Ben Shepherd was a very average presenter. He is just "incredibly presenter like" and doesn't seem to have his own personality. He got his big break on T4 when that was just starting. In the industry he was considered to be a big find and extremely good, but then he went on holiday and Vernon Kaye took his spot and C4 never looked back!
My opnion did change a little though when I saw him on The Match on Sky One. He stripped to his pants to train and he was well fit!!!!!
He does his job very professionally but without a lot of personality. But......

I loved him on The Match too, it was nice to see him loosen up and be less presenter like. I agree with you (I seem to be agreeing a lot lately) on the personality thing, he is very professional (I think) because of the GMTV thing and he doesn't know when to loosen up.
I don't think Ben Shepard was a good coice for presenter... even if it is only the Xtra Factor. He's got no personality. Sorry to offend any of his fans.
Don't like or dislike ben but think they should either consider cancelling that cartoon or inserting a joke or two into it.
As I've said on other threads, I have never rated Ben as a presenter; he isn't quite as dire on Xtra-factor as he has been on other things I've seen him present, but I think still he's bland and boring with zero personality.
And I'm sorry linkinpark875 but I couldn't disagree with you more about him presenting the main X-Factor show, as I really like Kate Thornton and think she's doing an excillent job. Ben would just be plain awful.

It was Dermot O'Leary who took BS's job on T4.. just after having replaced him as host of The Bigger Breakfast!
