Leverksan pardon the spelling were looking, but wanted him on a free. PSG had looked, but pulled out. They know that should they wait 6 months Berbatov will be available for nothing.,

PSG are signing Levezzi from Napoli apparently, so I cannot see them signing Berbs, I did hear about the Bayer Leverkausen interest, but that was a while back now.

It will be interesting to see if he does leave us, as it is one thing saying "oh Berbs will leave", it is another thing entirly actually trying to sell him.

He's going by hook or by crook. If we don't get value, we'll have to settle for not getting value. Fergie clearly no longer wants him. That's the be all and end all.

Can see Berbs moving to Germany or Turkey, we wont get a big fee for him, so we will have to take what we can get.

If no-one is interested in him, we cannot force them to take him, so we might be stuck with him, which might ruin our plans somewhat.

True, noone has come out and said they are interested in him, noone is showing much interest at the moment, so yeah he could be with us for the start of the new season.

If he does go, I think it will be to Germany or Turkey.

Nobody won't be interested in him. You and your 'but what ifs' to every situation.

He's just 31, not 41, played for Manchester Untied, got a good goalscoring record. On what planet would NOBODY be interested in him? It just won't happen.

Even if we accept £7m for him. If we don't and he spends the next season sitting on the bench, not playing, that's £7m we've lost plus his wags on top of that likely another £5m. Essentially a £12m financial hit we'd take on keeping a player because nobody matches our valuation, whatever that valuation is

The planet that I am on, is the one where Europe is in a massive reccession, Spain are in massive finacial trouble, and the rest are not exactly in a healthy position to go around spending lots of cash on a player that is past his best.

Yes, he probably will depart, but I wouldn't be 100% sure of it, as clubs are watching their finances, plus with the fair play rules as well, both us and Berbs will have to make a loss, us on a transfer fee, and him on wages.

No the planet you're on is your usual one of trying to think up far-fetched objections to what people say and cite worst case scenarios all the time.

What if Wayne Rooney decided he's had enough and takes up gardening?

What if the government outlaws football clubs beginning with the letter M?

Are you seriously suggesting that we couldn't sell Berbatov at any price?

What if the goalkeeper breaks both hands in a freak motorcycle accident?

Have football clubs stopped buying and selling players because of the recession? No.

So please stop inventing imaginary scenarios and worst-case situations and then attaching 'what if's? to them. It's inconceivable that Berbatov wouldn't get a new club. He's one of the most talented footballers in the world.

Accirding to the Mail:

The deal is believed to be in the region of £4million with £2.75m being paid up front to the newly-promoted League One side.

It also said - if you believe such details! - that Blackburn offered to take him next season to give him Championship experience on a short term deal but Fergie says no cos he has plans to fast track him into his first team plans.

There is nothing far fetched about thinking that clubs won't spend excess money on our player, I do think he will depart from us, but to say him not leaving is something impossible that I have just made up, is not entirley being honest.

Clearly the answer here is Berbatov moves to MLS and signs with the LA Galaxy for $570 trillion to partner up with Robbie Keane.

Do you think United will sign a ball winning Midfielder this summer, the main names in the frame seem to be Asamoah,Tiote and Strootman, really think we need this type of player or we could be too lightweight in Midfield

Strootman's name keeps appearing at the moment, could be a possible signing, who knows though, im sure Fergie has something up his sleeve.

Gosh, that's a vivid shirt!

Seeing it in a 'normal enviroment' as it were (not just displayed on a dummy in a random room) being held up in an everyday way, it doesn't 'alf stand out!
it didn't look as bright as that in the other pics.
Hopefully that's just the light in the picture!

Did the poor lad deserve that to be the first thing he saw after he signed for the club? No wonder he has that look on his face! lol

I'm suprised we arn't being lnked with Berbs . We seem to be interested in Drogba/ Forlan and Klose but I'd prefer Berbs anyday !!

Jo, you may be in luck, as I recall seeing somewhere that United have asked to be away on the first weekend, so that we can get OT ready after the Olympics.

I'm sure Fergie has something up his sleeve also but Strootman would be the ideal signing as he is the type of midfielder we need at the moment. Strootman also has international experience with Holland and is in the right age group for United as he is only 22 and if the £14 Million price tag quoted is correct he is also quite cheap when compared to someone like Modric. It is a signing i would like to see happen.

Oooh you little beauty!! Thanks for that - fingers crossed now.

We fly out at Saturday at 8am so we'll be there for 11am their time and don't come back til Monday night so hopefully I'll catch the game in a bar. Their league doesn't start til the week after unfortunately or I might have tried to get to a game while I was there.

I'm more concerned about getting cover/replacement for Evra at the moment. Providing Fabio goes out on the loan then we've got a gap to fill temporarily and permanantly in the not too distant future with Pat.

I can't say I've heard of the United request, it wouldn't suprise me though. However, I think part of it is, that OT will remain a designated Olympic venue for a period of time post games, before it's actually handed back to the club. Essentially we are kicked out of our own ground, a bit like what happens for Champions League final's. So all the advertising in the ground has to be neutralised and then only recognised Olympic sponsors will be allowed to use the boards etc.

I'm expecting that we'll have the final game of the season at home this year. I was a bit annoyed last season we were up in Sunderland. On the basis that we started the season away. Though of course the previous season we'd been at home. Plus as it's all random now, and done via computers, it's difficult to really push for specifics with the fixtures these days.

Scott Parker and Steven Gerrard are both over 30 and had to work really hard. I'm not the only coach wondering 'can they do it every four days?'"
is that not one of the footballing reasons rio wasnt selected then?
