Need Help: Dog Scooting
Stuart_Renton

I've got a problem: my dog is scooting on the ground and he's properly in distress. He's trying to bit his bottom, and can't sit or lie or do very much of anything other than scoot across the floor.

He went to the vets yesterday to have his anal sacs emptied and he was fine last night, but today he's properly distressed and there are not vets open until Wednesday.

I've given him a worming tablet (in case it's that, which I doubt) just to be safe and I've checked his anal sacs, which are empty. I wonder if they're not slightly infected, which is causing the irritation (it all looks fine, though).

What else can I do? He's panting and looking at me as if to say HELP.

Thanks in advance!

Has he eaten anything undigestible which might be having problems coming out? I once had to pull dental floss from my dogs bum!

Ewwww... LOL - rather you than me!

I've had a good look and there doesn't appear to be anything stuck there (what a fun activity for a Sunday afternoon).

Thankfully, he's asleep now so maybe he'll feel better when he wakes up!

Sorry, logged into my preferred account (not sure why Facebook keeps logging me in as myself - grrr).
