HELP. HDMI cable problem!! How can i play videos from my phone on my TV.??

I have this Tv

and i have this lead

and my phone is a samsung galaxy note

but my tv doesnt seem to acknowledge when anything is plugged into my hdmi slots. when i press the hdmi button on my remote it says there is no device connected.

how can i play my videos on my phone so they can be viewed on my TV?
anyone know?????

At a guess I'd say it's probably because your TV doesn't support 1080p input.

See if there is a setting on the Note to change the output resolution to 720p. If not, try and find a 1080p TV you can try it on.

Some of the cheap adapters only output at 1080p which means they don't work on 'HD Ready' TVs that don't support 1080p

I'm pretty sure the proper Samsung output adapter can output at different resolutions, but don't quote me on that.

Having read the reviews on the Amazon site it seems that many people have had a problem with this HDMI TV adapter.

just did a bit of fiddling about with the tv settings. im not sure exactly. changed a setting to hdmi input or something
