Yet she's now embarking on what will probably become the most successful Worldwide tour in history. One single doesn't count for everything. Alex is a very talented artist and I'm sure she'll be back at the top of the charts (where she belongs) soon.”
But Madonna can afford to have flop singles nowadays. She's had a lot of hits and really doesn't have a huge amount left to prove on the singles chart. Kylie is the same. They've both been in the industry for 25 and 30 years, they've had the big hits and the number ones and there's bound to come a time when they're not necessarily guaranteed that anymore. Sure it would be nice if they made the top 10 again, and I'm sure they probably will at some point, but both can ride out underperforming singles. Alexandra is still relatively new and has only just released her second album. She has a lot to prove and unfortunately she can't afford to flop too often at this moment in her career. My guess is the performance of her new album and the next single will be a make or break moment in her career. It's not like Alexandra Burke has big support of markets outside of the UK. She's in trouble if her sales falter too much here.
At the end of the day, she isn't owed success just because she won The X-Factor. She may yet become another cautionary tale as to why these show do not guarantee lasting success in the industry. We'll just have to see.

Peter Andre manages to maintain a singing career without any radio support. He's able to tour, it might not be such a bad career move for her.”
It's telling that people think she should sell her life to TV in order to try and re-sell her music career to the public when she hasn't even been around that long. I also wouldn't really look to Peter Andre as guidance for a music career. He's a has-been, a joke. His main income nowadays is from selling every aspect of his life to magazines and TV. I doubt he makes a huge amount from music since it doesn't really sell that well. There were also numerous reports of poor tickets sales for his last tour.
