Oh...so Nick can call Margaret by her first name...

But it was a heinous crime when Baggs did it...

I actually think that was very clever editing, I assume that she already introduced herself and he simply adressed her by her name...

It was only a heinous crime because he realised his mistake and therefore called attention to it. Most atrocities don't become so until people realise what's going on. Nick must simply have been savvy enough not to draw attention to what he'd done.

I noticed that. I also noticed that someone (Ricky?) called Claude by his first name too. Since neither of them took offence I assume they had been introduced on first name terms and it was expected.

I think it was the enthusiasm with which Baggs burst into the room with a "MARGARET!!!" that produced the response "Sorry, have we been introduce?"

She wasn't objecting to being addressed as Margaret, just the over friendliness of Bagg's approach.

I'm getting the impression they where told to tone down the toughness in the interviews. I mean Claude was softer this year, what else could it be?

Looks like Claude and Margaret where not at the Your Hired event either.

Candidate's have always addressed interviewers by first name.

StuBaggs' crime was to greet her like an old friend, "Helloooooo Margaret!" in a really camp voice.

well when baggs did it he came in all guns blazing, like he's bumped into a long lost friend for the first time in ages. It wasn't the addressing my first name alone per se.

I think that Baggs was simply genuinely surprised and happy to see a person he recognised and liked after having been grilled to pieces by other interviewers.

It could also be that when Baggs did it, he was being interviewed as an employee, whereas nowadays it is as a business partner and it is less of an interview and more of a discussion about their plan.

I see they still rip their CV to shreds though

Agree with all that Margaret's reaction was because a) Braggs was a potential employee, not a business partner, and b) the way he did it was way over the top. And did it before the introductions, too.

Much as I disliked Baggs, I thought at the time that the criticism he received on this particular thing was unfair. To my mind he was just trying to be enthusiastic and friendly whilst understandably nervous, and unexpectedly saw a face he recognised. I'm sure if you analysed every nuance of my utterances during the working day I do far worse.

I agree.
