New Lana Del Rey song Body Electric
DRAGON LANCE
04-06-2012
Just thought I'd bring this to peoples attention incase you are interested. Lana Del Rey did a rather amazing performance at the coincidently named El Rey Theatre (think that's in LA) and played this new song. Its another dark ballad, sure some will turn their noses up at it but personally I think its brilliant. Its called "Body Electric" and the title would appear to be inspired by lines from
American poet Walt Witman "I sing the Body Electric."

If it doesn't work (as I can't confess to be an expert at inserting links and things) just you-tube it yourself. She also does Summertime Sadness and there's a version of Video Games from the same show. Hopefully the other tracks she performed will appear on You-Tube, she also did National Anthem.

Her singing (if you can her it over screaming fans) is brilliant, and further proves when on form she is actually totally bloody brilliant Live. Contrary to what some people who've only seen her on Saturday Night Live want you believe.

Through the show she went down to the front and held the hands of fans. She also apparently smiled and engaged in bits of banter with the audience between songs, further scorching claims that she's so miserable she makes Radiohead's Thom Yorke look like an irritatingly happy Breakfast TV presenter on Valium.

Well done Miss Del Rey, please carry the good form over to the UK for your festival appearances pretty, pretty, please. You are totally awesome!

Great tune, isn't it? Which is by no means a surprise these days, she seems to have great tune seeping out of her pores. She will have the last laugh on the ridiculous US music critics who reviewed her album in approx 2 lines then spent the vast majority of the 'review' slagging her supposed inauthenticity and THAT SNL performance.

Even the US bloggers are coming round to Ms Del Rey's live performances.

Quote:
“While the usually shy singer let nerves get the best of her on SNL, she emerged confident and vocally on-point for her first intimate show in L.A., singing material from her latest album, Born to Die.....”
