Ah for god's sake it's been on sale for all of 16 hours. Give her a break.

What are you on about?

Do you know how low album sales are at the moment. If Alex has "only" sold 3,900 in her first day, then she's comfortably on course to sell more than the No.1 album from 2 weeks ago.

If those figures are correct, then Alex isn't doing any worse than most album selling acts these days. Most albums are getting to no.1 with sales of around 20,000 in a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But if 3,900 in a day is flopping, then basically every top 3 album seller these days is "flopping".

If those are the sales then she will comfortably get into the top 10, but even if it didnt, its not going to change my opinion on her, I love her and her new album is brilliant, and there is still a chance that it could sell loads, just because it doesnt initially sell hundreds of thousands in its first week it could be a slow burner, if she picks the right singles then those will definitely help sell the album. There are loads of albums that sell like that these days. Labels/fans just have to be patient.

I love how you say unfortunately like you're genuinely sad. Tbh I don't even care about the sales because the album is hot. Had she got the support from the industry she deserves the album would have done well FACT.

Do you not think it being a bank holiday might have an effect?

So the album hasn't been released 24hours yet, and Alex is already being shot down. C'mon that's a bit silly. I like Elephant and Let It Go, but from the previews, the album isn't my thing. But to tear her down almost immediately is a little immature.

Born This Way was a massive flop according to people, too. If AB is on course for a flop like that then her career is over.

It's just another attempt to take a shot at Alexandra....no albums fly off the shelves in less than a day. It takes at least a week to see how an album will do...but rest assured if it does flopped will get more of these threads....you'd think Alexandra has gone around has gone around and killed the OP's parents the way they act.

It can't really, but IF it's sales figures really are 3,900 on day one (and that's a big if because I can't see any source) then it will do around 15,000 this week and probably end somewhere in the top 5. New releases are very front loaded (especially by acts like Alex) so if it's only sold 3,900 so far then it's weekly sales aren't going to be great.

Are some people so sad that they really check DAILY sales figures? What the hell does it matter? Either you like an album or you don't or you like an artist or you don't. I've got no time for AB so I couldn't care less what she sells. The last 100 albums I bought I also couldn't care less what the sales figures were.

Unless of course you need to validate your musical preferences by mutual consent. Sales figures are not an indicator of quality; sometimes the reverse is true - an artist can create something new and interesting but can alienate casual fans because it's too "different", even if it's artistically superior if not commercially so.
