No mention if it can be played online co-op?

Not entirley sure. I think you can. You can post messages of each level and see what other people have posted about that level as well.

Wii U looks like such an incredible piece of kit, but it deserves a much better conference than this.

I think the conference was crap. New Mario though!

I'd say given the fact they only had an hour, they did as much as they could by demonstrating a variety of games.

I think it would've benefitted from being a 2-hour conference. But the Gamepad does look great; Arkham City and ZombiU looked amazing with the Gamepad. Lego City looks great as well. Will definitely be getting that! But those adverts are so American and bad!

New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Mario Bros. 2?
The cynic in me should be moaning that they aren't being creative enough or something stupid, but...if I'm honest, I'm looking forward to both!

They said that the Wii U will be out in the "Holiday Season". I take it that means Christmas?
If so, I hope they won't all be sold out so I can get one.

Yes, the never-ending screams of "OH MY GOSH!!" in horrible Americans accents are getting on my nerves.

Looking forward to the 3DS thing tomorrow. I want to see more Luigi's Mansion 2.

Some actual decent games announced with them being Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion 2 but where was the Zelda. Is anybody else just waiting for the influx of other games to turn up now?

Damn! And I closed my feed because my head was hurting from that family playing their games. Arkham Asylum was good I thought but I didn't love it so was never interested in getting Arkham City, but from what I saw in the conference it did look really good with the Gamepad. Same goes for ZombiU, zombies scare the crap outta me but damn, it looked really good! The sniper and hacking on the Gamepad were great.

Have to say i'm dissappointed

I think Nintendo needed a great E3 to really get the buzz going, and it fell flat. It started pretty well, Pikmin 3 was a long expected title that looked great and Miyamotos infectious enthusiasm was welcome as ever.

But it just seemed very unconvincing then on, yes Arkham City: Armored looked cool, but is anyone really gonna spend 35-40 quid on a game they played a year ago with bells on(upto that point), especially as the GOTY version will probably only be 25 quid (on PS3 and 360), and that'll include all the DLC. The Wii U features look cool, but doesn't look like a reason to re-buy. I'm sure it'll be similar with Mass Effect 3.

Lego City looked nice, but isn't going to get pulses racing.

Zombi U- looked great, not only did it seem tailored to the Wii U s strengths, but a one-bite kill mechanism can be really good. Looks like its set in the London Underground, at least for one level. Could be a real great exclusive! Given too little time though (loved the zombifier)

Just Dance, Sing, Wii Fit.....they seem to be good at what they do, but it all seems so tired now.

Nintendoland.....looks nice, but its just a portmanteau into a minigame collection by the looks of it.

New Super Mario Bros U: Looks great, sure it'll be a great game. But i've always felt NEW SMB is better suited to handhelds.

Will the controller work anywhere in the house or just the living room? Will Nintendo have in-game achievements? What is the price going to be? What is the online multiplayer going to be like? Why does Scribblenauts get in ahead of Aliens Colonial Marines? None of this was answered.

I actually really like the look of the console and the hardware, but for me that conference was a case of 'nice tech...shame about the games'

My problem was that Reggie said that the conference was to let the games do the talking. If that's the best the can do I think it's worrying. Where was F-Zero, Starfox???

On the brighter side the 3DS complement looks fantastic, in my opinion theres no doubt 3DS will dominate conventional handheld gaming for this gen. It has some great titles.

Reggie stated last year during E3 that it is designed to be used in the room the console is in, because many people got confused, as they thought that the controller was the console itself, and was portable like the 3DS.

Thats what I thought, but recently the developers of Project Cars recently wrote this (which confused me again)

First Bullet point 'on the go around the house'

http://nintendoeverything.com/wp-con..._u_details.jpg

Either the Wii U technology got improved to allow round the house gameplay, or the developers are mistaken, or maybe it was just badly worded (probably the latter)

Some WiiU tech specs have been revealed.
Quote:
Nintendo has officially revealed the final tech specs for its Wii U console, many of which confirm what we've already heard about the system.
The Wii U will be powered by an IBM multi-core CPU and AMD Radeon HD GPU combo. Sadly, the data falls short of supplying the amount of RAM inside Nintendo's new box. If you're a fan of vital statistics, the console is 1.8 inches high, 10.5 inches deep and 6.8 inches long, with an overall weight of 3.41 pounds. The Wii U Game Pad tips the scales at 1.1 pounds.
HD output is included as expected, with 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i all being supported. Near Field Communication also makes the cut via the Wii U Game Pad.
Speaking of the Game Pad, it boasts a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which, according to Nintendo Japan, takes approximately 2 and a half hours to charge and gives around 3-5 hours of play time, depending on screen brightness. You can also go 'old school' and plug it into an AC adapter to play while it's charging.
As previously confirmed, the Wii U will feature internal flash storage of an undisclosed amount, which can be augmented by SD cards - just as was the case with the original Wii console. With both Microsoft and Sony favouring expansive hard drives for storage on their machines, this is a brave move by Nintendo. Fingers are firmly crossed that it doesn't result in more headaches for eShop developers when it comes to software size limits.
In terms of expansion, there are four USB ports on the system - two on the front and two on the rear. 'Nearly' all Wii accessories can be used on the Wii U, which is both vague and slightly ominous at the same time.
So there you have it - the Wii U has some official specs at last. It's just a shame that they're so vague; over the next few weeks we'll probably see them expanded in a little more detail as developers begin to spill the beans on the machine's power.

No type or amount of RAM, no amount of storage, no info about the CPU or GPU apart from who make it...

I played SMB frist time round on the NES, I have no interest playing it again HD...

The strange thing is the SNES is probably my fav console of all time, so many fantastic, unique and innovating games which Nintendo just doesn't seem to do any more.

It's like Sony saying the Vita plays PSone Classics.... who cares?

As I've just said in another thread, Nintendo's E3 site is better than the actual show.

Brilliant launch games like Project P100 (sounds quirky but brilliant), Game and Wario (a mix between Game & Watch and Warioware), on the site, weren't shown at the event.

This was their perfect opportunity to show what their console was capable of, and they showed reruns of Mario and other old tripe with slightly better graphics.

Seems they've shied away from revealing tech details from fear of revealing that they are on par or only slightly above the PS3/X360.

They're screwed whenever Sony/MS announce their new consoles.

Well done Nintendo, you've caught up with the 'current' gen. Kindly catch up again in five years time.
