She can't take criticism either, just look at her face when Simon is judging her. I really don't think she could handle a big music career!

She might do well in broadway musicals. Me and my bloke went to see We Will Rock You and they are really talented singers. I think Cassie needs a few years on her first though and lots of training.

i dont think she could either she was nearly in tears before he spoke last night, and then all that jumping around, yes shes young and was exited to get through but jumping around like that when others did not know was a bit stupid, the same goes for tooby,.... did we ever see gareth gates or zoe from pop idol jumping around like a grasshopper on speed?, and they were around her age.

Me too V2W,
I think the downside to this "Fast-track to Fame" process is this....
Cassie is a 17 yr old still VERY wet behind the ears and still a LONG way from being the finished article..should she win she'll bypass the learning curve than by rights she needs to take....it would be a poison chalice.
Go back to your theathre studies course, take what you can from the XF experience and emerge in 3 or 4 years time a more "Finished article"
I thought last night's performance and choice of song were so WRONG for her,and if Mammon's "little Cassie" is as good as she thinks she is she'll take stock, and improve.

I'm amazed Cassie has survived as long as she has. She does have a great voice but it is nowhere NEAR ready for the big stage. Like a lot of other people have said, she needs to go away, train properly and then come back the finished article.

I agree that she'd be better in musical theatre than the pop business - and that is definitely a compliment as I think musical theatre voices are infinitely better to the majority of pop singers as they cannot rely on clever production to hide any shortcomings. She'll have to sort her dancing out though - the drama last week over the difficult dance routine she had to master was pathetic - specially when it turned out to be a few arm movements and walking about a bit!

That "dance drama" amazed me too Isn't she supposed to be a drama student?
I REALLY think the XF Cassie hype has clouded her "common sense" goggles to the point where she honestly thinks she a fully fledged superstar.
Get away from Mammon and rainbow beard boy...ask for some HONEST opinions from Joe and Jane public, and then ask some vocal coaches NOT involved with XF.
She might not LIKE what they have to say....but at least she'd know where she has to improve.
Blind Praise is often a serpent's kiss....(woah there PIV,it's a bit early for such flowery metaphors )
So dear Cassie, come back to earth love, you'll be a much better person for it,I promise.....

Shes not a threat or serious competition. Just there to fill up the numbers really. Though having said that i cant exactly blame her for wanting to be a star straight away because someone could be trained and very talented and never get that break that they deserve.
So i suppose if opportunities like xfactor come along then you might as well go with it.

Really the sensible approach for cassie is to train for a few more years BEFORE releasing any material yet. But from a sales point of view that would be terrible as everyone would have forgotten who she was and cassie would sell about 2 records if she was lucky - (brought by her mum and her) lol

Its tricky to get the balance right between having the right amount of training and experience you need and wanting to sell your records.

One of my favourite bands (evanescence) actually were developing themseleves as artists, writing music etc and took 2 years to get themesleves ready BEFORE releaseing any material and that was AFTER they got their record deal. Ideally all artists should take SOME time to develop themselves and their music...especially AFTER they get a record contract because that means artists dont have to worry where their next pay cheque is comming from etc and they have the peice of mind that they are going to release an album etc.

But shows like X Factor, they want to capitalise on the popularlity of the show as soon as possible before people forget them, so i dont ever think its possible to really develop artists for long periods. Hence why credability of these music shows are always going to be questioned.

Yeah when cassie made a huge deal about the dancing i was under the assumption that there would be ACTUAL dancing. Kinda felt like "is that it?" after her performance.

I find Cassie’s performances very ‘staged’, and agree with the general consensus that her vocal talents would be much better suited to musical theatre than the TOTP’s. While she has a good vocal range (although nerves have warbled her voice on every XF performance), her stage presence and artist deportment is rather ‘paint by numbers’ than a natural charismatic response to what she is singing and trying to convey to the audience.

I feel her ‘performing’ character still needs to grow – but at 17 she has plenty of time to accomplish this and create an image she is comfortable with. I think it’s a case of, see you in 3-4 years time – but your not ready yet.

I find her incredibly bland and uninteresting. There have been moments when I have thought 'God, she can actualy sing!', but they have been few and far between. She's given a series of lack-lustre performances and I thought she was by far the weakest last week and should have been the one to go (yes I know she wasn't in the bottom 2, but she should have been)

I love her voice.
She was not the worst last week by any means - that goes to VWS and Rowetta

I really enjoyed Rowetta's performance last week - I don't like the song, but I think she performed it brilliantly and she was one of my faves.

I didn't see the show until the Sunday but thought it was a strong week - even though I think Cassie was the weakest, she still gave a reasonable performance.

I haven't posted my opinions of last week anywhere yet and here is as good a place as any, so here goes my order of preference last week was:

Rowetta/Steve - really enjoyed both performances and can't really choose between them for a fave
Tabby - Enjoyed this as well, even though I didn't really expect to.
VWS - I haven't rated the girls for weeks, but I actually thought that this was their strongest performance to date and I really enjoyed it - ironic that this is the one they went out on.
G4 - I am usually a G4 fan, but this didn't do anything for me at all.
Cassie - bland and dull.
