Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder and Kylie were all the best by a mile.

Cheryl was a lot worse than I could ever have imagined Ruined an incredible song

I think the song she sung was Need You Now by Lady Antebellum. The original is much better than her version. Here's the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM213aMKTHg

Glad it wasnt just me that thought some of the acts were a bit disappointing and rock/ guitar music needed more representation!

We have produced some amazing bands over the years and not one of them was represented fairly tonight. I thought maybe one of indie wave bands may have got a nod- kasabian or someone of that nature- rock but not too heavy!

In my eyes Muse should have played given their status in rock music now!

It was just who Gary Barlow knew!

I liked how Grace Jones rubbed salt in Biffa's wounds by being awesome Singing live and doing a hula hoop and being a real live 'jigaboo'

This is what I thought about certain acts.

Cliff Richard – Pretty awful. Didn’t help that he was followed by Lang Lang and Alfie Boe, both of whom were absolutely brilliant. Time to call it a day Cliff!

Madness – Brilliant on the roof, and superb special effects.

Stevie Wonder – Incredible.

Elton John – A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

Very strange line-up I thought - though maybe others were asked and turned it down? What was Will.i.am doing there? He sounded terrible and also JLS and Cheryl was woeful - though I guess having her sing with Gary was damage limitation at least. Britain has such a wealth of talent so why spoil it with those acts? I loved Jools Holland and Ruth Turner and glad they had some classical in there - though why they weren't all British I'm not sure?
Grace Jones! She's in amazing shape and I loved how she hula-hopped through all her song - really showed the kids how to do it. I liked Annie too and Elton Tom Jones still sounds great!

Shirley Bassey was phenomenal.

Lady Antebellum might need to sue Tweedy for that performance.

I thought Stevie Wonder was the best. He is in better shape musically than Paul McCartney, Tom Jones or Cliff Richard or for that matter most of the younger acts.

Kylie has a couple of good songs but good dancing doesn't disguise a limited vocal ability.

Robbie actually performed Mack the Knife well. A Marxist critique of capitalism in the midst of all that pomp and privilege!

Grace Jones was the surprise of the evening, looking and singing brilliantly.

Shirley did my favourite Bond song and she hasn't lost the voice yet.

I agree no rock band was disappointing when you consider how many good UK bands there are. Oasis would have been perfect but a bit risky. I would have gone for Blur.

“Thought the last hour was good rest rubbish the golden jubilee concert was much better. Anyone remember they had bryan adams, corrs, will young.”

And they had Brian May and the remaining members of Queen. Will sang with them. He had only been in the business a matter of months and was miles better than most of last night's offerings.

My favourite by far was Alfie Boe. Very versatile.

Someone on the other threads in the TV forum wondered if some of those who were missing were being saved for the Olympic opening/closing ceremonies.

There is a two-part thread in TV.

Highlights for me were Kylie, Elton, Grace Jones and Tom Jones. All of whom were pretty fantastic. Enjoyed Madness too. The projections were brill!

I though Cliff Richard was especially bad. Don't get me started on Cheryl. Will.i.am was poor too.

Overall I was quiet disappointed in the whole thing.

Grace Jones never disappoints at these things because she has always been so bonkers but the ''Happy Birthday to our Queen'' was by far her most defining moment ever!!

Kylie was by far the best performer last night. Most other acts seem to have tuning problems and Cheryl should not be allowed to sing live, period. The impromptu Stevie Wonder/Will.I.Am singing happy birthday to the queen was the most cringeworthy moment. Didn't people tell them the concert is for the diamond jubilee not her birthday!?

I blame Grace Jones!

I missed the first 45 minutes, which considering who were performing was probably very fortunate.

My favourites were Macca and Madness.

I liked all the classical/operatic acts.

I thought most of the vintage acts (Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Stevie Wonder, Elton John) were pretty good, although Cliff wasn't too great (imo).

Finally, and this is not going to go down at all well:-

I thought Grace Jones and Kylie were dire.

Yesterday was the Queen's Official birthday, so there was nothing wrong in singing/wishing her Happy Birthday......

So Cheryl Cole can dance around and sing on stage and sound pretty much like the song does on the album, but when she has to stand still and sing a ballad she sounds like a live pig being passed through a mincing machine in a butchers?

Seriously love, stick to miming or f*ck off you talentless bint.

Still, they are there to celebrate her diamond jubilee. the concert is called the diamond jubilee concert, not the queen's official birthday concert.

It's Ruby Turner, and yes, she is excellent.

But the fact remains that it WAS her official birthday.

I find it funny that loads of posters on DS have had a go at certain artists for wishing her Happy Birthday, when they themsleves didn't realise that it was her offical birthday.

I`m not a fan but I thought Sir Cliff made it look effort less.Sir Elton sounded to be struggling at times.

Grace Jones was great as was Tom Jones and the Opera woman was also very good though not my thing . Kylie was very average . Elton and Cliff were shadows of their former selves . Robbie was quite good as was Ruby Turner with Jules Holland . Cheryl must be feeling very depressed today !

Judging by the confused looks at the royal box when the song was sung, obviously some members of the royal family didn't realise it either.
