I know Take That are having a break but I think they would have been a good addition to the show. They've got good 'crowd-pleasing' songs. I think they would have gone down really well.

Gary should have invited them on instead of Tweedy.

Grace Jones was the best.

I have to big up Tom Jones, as my mum's good friend Toby Chapman was playing keyboards then guitar with him

Personal favourites were Alfie Boe and Stevie Wonder. Not really a Kylie fan, but thought she put on a great show for someone who doesn't have the strongest voice.

Grace Jones is a law unto herself. Those thighs could kill grown men. Kylie was also fantastic.

She's a force of nature that lady, absolutely superb.

Also enjoyed Alfie Boe and Renee Fleming, great voices.
Madness on the roof was great, Tom Jones is still in good voice, Annie Lennox as mad as a box of frogs but excellent.

OMG missed Gary barlow singing with Cheryl Cole last night but just watched catch up. Why on earth did he choose her to duet with? She sounded SO bad. Not suprisingly cause we all know she can't sing anyway but really, that was awful. How can she show her face today lol.

I got the impression from some interviews they gave last summer that all was not well in Take That after such a long tour and Robbie's return, so maybe a break is best for them.

I agree that most of their 'comeback' songs are made for events like this, maybe we'll see them at the Olympics?

I don't have any strong feelings on Annie Lennox either way.

But last night I wanted to send her to the Tower and throw away the key.

Why? Committing what I consider to be a cardinal musical sin - vocally wanking all over an instrumental section or solo. That guitar solo that was being busted out was actually pretty good, but Miss Lennox didn't think so and decided she needed to "OOOOHH!" and "AIEEEE!" screech her way through the whole bloody thing. No excuses for that at all!

So that's where Lady Gaga got the idea for Pokerface on her current tour where she is passed through a giant meat grinder. Maybe I'm reading too far into it.

Cheryl's performance was better than I was expecting. I thought she ACTUALLY couldn't sing, but she hit a lot of the notes. Gary did well too. He missed a few notes too, but he did good overall.

Well it would have been great to have The Beatles, Stones, The Kinks, T-Rex, Bowie, Bee Gees etc there. Of course for various reasons many of those sadly couldn't be there. I presume The Stones and Bowie turned it down. Other acts like The Who, The Smiths, Oasis, Coldplay just wouldn't have been suitable. In the end rock and roll is anti-establishment.

Would love to have seen Jarvis Cocker sing Common People though.

Prince Edward, and most of the Queen's male servants, must have enjoyed Grace and Kylie, plus Shirley Bassey, too

SirMick, Pulp would definitely have been interesting...and the Pet Shop Boys (they would probably have said no if they had been asked to perform)

I did feel a bit sorry for Elton last night he really don't look or sound his best.

I guess spending time in hospital last week didn't help and I do think a lesser star would have made excuses not to attend in such circumstances!
