Some seriously big predictions coming in on the RPG. This gives you an idea of what to expect:

Re comments on previous thread - didn't Charles call The Queen "Mummy" at the Golden Jubilee concert in 2002? I'm almost certain he did.

Peak at end must surely be absolutely collosal - well over 15m I would have thought, maybe 17m to 18m?

Using the Pageant as a useful indication I think the concert average will be above 13m at the very least, if not over 14m. The peak will have been HUGE.

I think a peak in the region of 16m, considering a few boats in the rain managed a peak of 12m!

With regards to the concert rating, don't forget many people would have attended the lighting of their local beacon tonight and therefore not have been watching the concert finale

The BBC News at 10 is on BBC2 that night (obviously with no regional news in England at least). And I've seen nothing (yet) to suggest Newsnight is being cancelled during the Olympics. So that may well be the 10pm hour sorted for BBC2

I think 13 million (at least) with a peak of around 15 million (at least). I just think they're going to be massive. Everyone I know was going to watch it.

Nor do I!

I've stuck my neck out quite a bit on the RPG just for the fun of it really as I haven't a clue where it'll land. Tomorrow morning should be interesting...

I think there's more chance of your 15.2m than my 7.5m.

This is going to be like The X Factor rating - if it comes in below 12m there'll be a lot of posts on here stating 'lower than expected' rather than saying 'fantastic rating' which it'd deserve.

I think both are equally likely to be honest - it could go any way!

I think as long as it's above 10m then it should be considered a good result, with 12m+ a fantastic one.

I've made a horrific underprediction. 11.7m was my prediction but I suspect a 13.3m average with a 15-16m peak. Still, I'm going on the basis that it starts off low-ish around the 8m mark and builds to a very high audience of 14-15m, giving a rough 11-12m average.

And the sheer amount of posts on the Concert thread suggests we're in for a massive massive rating. I wouldn't be surprised with a 16m rating to be honest.

An eagerly anticipated rating always seem to equla a new thread. I guess this one will run until July 27th then.

Ah, the old bonfire night excuse five months early. I don't think the Jubilee beacons have had much publicity this time around really - not as much as I recall for the Golden Jubilee anyway. I think they've actually tried to keep them quiet so the focus remained on the Olympic torch.

I think it will rate rather well tonight but wasn't really my thing - I tuned in and out throughout the evening and though it had it's moments I was tuning out more than I was tuning in.

P.S. Watched the Gary Barlow documentary earlier today - that thoroughly deserved the ratings it got. BTW - when are the Birthday honours out. I just love the thought of how pissed off Simon Cowell will be if it's Sir Gary Barlow in his X Factor chair, though he'll be quite happy about Gary's self promotion over recent weeks.

Does anyone think it could even manage a 20m peak? really do think we could see some HUGE ratings tomorrow.

I think anything above 10m will be fantastic. But I am expecting it to be bigger - just based on the time slot, the social networks, the discussion on here and the fact the pageant already topped 10m - I would have said this would be the biggest event across the weekend in terms of audience anyway, and I'm even more sure of that fact now after tonight.

I'll hoping it gets 11.7m with 15-16m peak.

I know it's not always the best indication but the Jubilee Concert Discussion Thread on here has already been locked and moved on to Part 2.

Indicating either a massive average, a massive peak or both. We could so easily be looking at 16-17m average, instead of peak, frankly.
