Nope as normal service will be resumed when Emmerdale starts. My award for absolutely nothing remotely jubileelike goes for ITV2, who were showing the same tired BGT clips show this morning to an audience of three people and a dog, who might be a performer next year.

Well, it wasn't suspended that much, they still showed Man and Boy, the Tony Parsons drama, for two hours that night, albeit thirty minutes late. And on ITV we had Stars In Their Eyes, Denis Norden's Laughter File and The Premiership all as scheduled. And we only lost Blind Date and the Lottery. That's what gets me about those moans about "all day" Jubilee coverage, do you normally watch telly on a Tuesday afternoon? Switch it off.
Diana's death would be a greater example of big schedule changes - BBC1 was essentially news from the studio by Martyn Lewis or Peter Sissons for a large part of the day, carrying on from BBC World throughout the night, while BBC2 went to Grandstand at 3pm, and ITV showed Corrie and Heartbeat as normal, both of which got over 14m IIRC. And for the funeral, Casualty was cancelled until the following Friday with Free Willy in its place, I believe; it was meant to be shown on Sunday but Mother Teresa died. And F1 Qualifying on ITV from Monza was not shown live, but delayed in almost highlights form. |

Good job I checked my Radio Times. I forgot that War Hero In My Family has moved to 7pm tonight. And after that it's the best reality show on television - Springwatch on BBC2.
There's one thing for me to like Big Brother for - no clash between the two programmes I want to watch tonight. |

Just saw an ad for The Bachelor on Channel 5, some guy in a suit running through the woods from something.

And a new one for Kitchen Wars. None for BB though
, since there are no billboards and there's very little advertising on other channels, they should be airing the full one every ad break.

Wasn't Casualty also moved that day to BBC2 at 8.10?
The pointless Beeb-bashing this weekend reminded me of when they elected not to show the awful Queen Mother birthday pageant in 2000, and ITV showed it, and everyone moaned the Beeb thought Neighbours was more important, when in fact they showed every other bit of Queen Mum-related flannel that year, including all the tedious stuff nobody else would touch with a bargepole, which nobody mentioned and lavished praise on ITV for showing one thing. |

I don't see how Adele is officially Britain's Number One Popstar, presumably if this had been a few years ago we'd all have been lobbying for Duffy or Leona Lewis or someone.

Massive ratings for the concert. It exceeded my expectations by around 2.5m. And that peak of 17.1m
. Easily the most watched show of the year so far and I wouldn't be surprised if it stays there. Corrie did as well as could be expected in those circumstances. A shame it was so low as it was great last night. And that's 5 poor Corrie ratings in a row now. Hopefully things can recover tomorrow and Thursday. All the soaps are going to be for a rough ride over the Summer though, as the schedules will be changing each week for them.

I can't believe they wouldn't have asked Adele to perform, it seems more likely it was her decision not to. I imagine with the hectic year she had she'll be keeping a low profile for a while.

Currently, she is. Obviously not of all time. But she's miles ahead of where Duffy or Leona were a few years ago. As I said, she wouldn't be right to close the show. But there are other options other than McCartney every single time. And Adele would have been preferable to JLS or Jessie J or Will.i.am who seems to be the music version of John Terry - first with the Olympic Torch and now aimlessly wandering around on stage at the jubilee! How does he keep appearing in the most random places?!

Some simply staggering ratings over recent days whilst I have been away. I can't believe that 17m watched the climax of the concert having predicted all year that it couldn't possibly match 2002 - it blitzed it! Imagine if there hadn't been a double Corrie, nice weather and millions on holiday! ![]() And I'm blown away by the pageant ratings, not just the 12m peak but the fact it averaged 11m over 4 hours - astonishing. As the weather seems to have turned again today, one wonders what today's spectacular scenes in the Mall achieved! At least I'll be around at 9.40 tomorrow... On that note, I see BBC1 ran through all afternoon instead of breaking for the concert rerun with closing credits for the whole package; not sure of the ratings reporting implications? Quote:

Exactly. Crazy that the Federer quarter-final isn't being shown.
(Though Eurosport are showing both the Djokovic and Federer matches live on their two channels). ITV are doing a good job so it seems a bit churlish to criticise but at the same time it does seem ridiculous that neither the Nadal or Federer quarter-finals will be shown! (Or only bits will be shown). Also, I assume STV don't have the flexibility to show Murray matches that ITV1 don't want to show (eg, taking the ITV4 coverage - I think they've done this for European football in the past)? |

You're clearly not in their target demographic so why do you care? ITV2 were hardly going to be covering the jubilee were they?

Amazing rating for the concert. I imagine todays repeat will also do much better than the BBCs usual daytime schedule. Quote:
I think the Olympic Ceremony should start at 7.30pm to finish at midnight, instead of 1am, which is far too late.
Now of course NBC won't be showing it live, it will be on a tape delay, but they will want it as late as possible to stop people looking online for the show. They would like it later again :P I imagine they will show it US time of 7-11pm. I think the opeaning ceremony might break the 20 million barrier tbh. The hype is and will be immense. |

Excludes +1, Includes HD for Terrestrial Chart. Only 1 programme per 'show', i.e. only one Ford Super Sunday game. The Charles documentary may well fall just outside the Top 20, but a ~8m official should ensure an entry there. And yes, three entries as they are by definition different shows, and as thus will be recognised as such. I also expect the Olympics to have 3 entries in here too (the opening ceremony, the highest 'action' programme and the closing ceremony). Euro's will get two (one BBC, one ITV if I remember from what we did it 2010). |

Using Zoom x100000 and doing some stuff..........
![]() For ITV: 19:00 - 4.84m 19:15 - 5.18m => Average = 5.01m For BBC: 19:00 - 4.34m 19:15 - 5.51m => Average = 4.92m Although the 5.01m for ITV is tape-checked, but I think The One Show would have been as well. ![]() |

So BBC1, ITV1 and Channel 4 broadcast The Queen's Message. Who else do we know?
