We should do a Ratings Thread virtual conga when a 20m audience is delivered.
![]() It's all a bit underwhelming on here today... Hope the reported official figure makes it to 20m, both official match figures reported so far have been lower than the overnights. Be a shame if it got 19.97m. Though GeorgeS would be delighted.... . And of course good to see ITV1 get the 2nd highest rating of the day

Seemed a bizarre change to make so late in the day. I assume it was because they didn't want Lifers to air against the match, but if so why did they schedule it there in the first place knowing that there was a high chance it would face the England game.
I've said this before but C4's 10pm slots are atrocious, with news on BBC1 and ITV and BBC2 stuck with showing half hour programmes because of Newsnight it should be a brilliant slot for them, they should be showcasing all their best stuff there and dragging audiences across. And this week at 10pm we have 8 Out of 10 Cats (repeated from the exact same slot on Friday), Lifers (repeated from Sunday), A Short History of Everything Else (bloody awful) and 24 Hours in A&E (repeated from 9pm the previous day). Dreadful. They excert more effort at 10am. |

Why is CBBC on BBC2 on until 5.50pm?
Surley it could have ended at 5.15 as usual and they could have had Pointless or Money Where Your Mouth Is? |

There was a cross-channel crossover once after the Emmerdale plane crash where a newspaper in Brookside had the story on the front page. Phil Redmond, creator of Brookside, was involved in Emmerdale at the time and no doubt had something to do with the mention on the Channel 4 soap.

Got to say 872k for BB is far higher than I expected. I expected 650k if it had finished normal time and when it went to the penalties, I expected BB to go below 500k. So 872k is respectable. It was an all time low, but only by around 15k. Tonight BB should be back to the 1.4m.
I mean, Look how bad Ch4 sank. Shows were below BB. Now for the main rating. Colossal figure for the match, but expected when it went to e.t and penalties. 23.2m peak is huge in this day and age. I knew it would be a massive ratings. Amongst Italians living in England (and there's a lot, incl me), it was sort of like the biggest game we could possibly watch, so the penalties would have had every Italian and English viewer watching through their hands. |

I think so too. The opening ceremony is easily the biggest event ever held in the UK and will be massively hyped. The buzz will be incredible. No-one will want to miss it.

As Barb updated, does anyone have the BB officials for some of those days (incl +1)? As I see Ch5+1 is not showing on BARB.

Attack the Block's 1.5m rating seems pretty good considering half of it clashed with the football, and not many people are going to start watching it half way through.
Re the Olympic Opening Ceremony, I reckon big, big figures. fair bit as the show goes on, as it doesn't finish until around midnight |

Do we have any figures for Primeval and You Cannot Be Serious on Saturday? Interested to see how low this mini-flopzone went in even earlier slots than the previous week.

. IIRC Both Sydney (2000) & Beijing came in at roughly 4 hours and Athens (2004) 3 and a half.Which is why I think the special pre show from 20.12 to 21.00 could average higher than the opening ceremony. I think i'll have a nap during the parade of Nations
