Channel 5
20:00- Killers Behind Bars: 1.32m (6.1%)
22:00- Big Brother: 1.28m (7.2%) exc +1
I sense a theme night: a night of unsavoury people in confined spaces

Killers Behind Bars has rated really well minus last week's predictable blip against the football. Professor David Wilson says he has 6 new subjects lined up if the show is recommissioned which I imagine it will now.

Heather Watson won her round 2 match with about a minute to spare before the BBC News at One, but it was still delayed by a minute or so. First British woman in the third round at Wimbledon since 2002, expect a big court for her on Friday. No Murray that day so conceivable she could be given an evening match on Centre or Court 1.

So the rating didn't include +1? Or is it still rounded up to 1.3m with +1? As it's 1.28m excl +1.

1.3m was rounded to 1 decimal place and did include +1. So I guess it had something like 50k/60k on +1, in addition to the 1.28m exc +1.

She'll scheduled to play the third seed as well. I remember watching the last time a woman got to the 3rd round (Elena Baltacha 10 years ago) and she was on an outside court on a Saturday - I think court 18. I'm sure Watson's potential opposition will put her on Centre though.

Great rating for Line of Duty, hopefully will hold up.

On Big Brother - they've been losing viewers to the Football and other things; this breaks up its viewers and means their not 100% catching up with things and following the story line.

I haven't been watching so there might be more to it, but its time to drop the weekend shows so they 'relaunch' with a 90 minute special every Monday. Keeps the show fresh and allows a 'recap' as well.
Similar to the debut of The Shadow Line in that respect. There should be more drama on BBC2 I think.

Things are really starting to kick off for The Olympics. The Media Centre has now opened - the scale of which is incredible - almost 30,000 media working on the games from 190 different countries.

NBC has chartered Boeing 777 and is starting to fly its 2,700 staff in. They will have 2 purpose built studios in the park and will pretty much broadcast 24/7. They've even got permission for an NBC airship in the Olympic Park.

Some NBC promos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUVHbB60BOg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWPrW9Akcdg

The BBC and Al Jazerra have built studios on the roof of apartment blocks overlooking the park - although it's not clear if the BBC one is the official studio or the news studio (Ten O'Clock news at least will come live from Stratford).

They've also revealed the first of 5 official London 2012 songs will be revealed tonight at 7.30PM on Radio 1 - from Muse.

And there will be surprise gigs at Olympic venues during the games, with Scissor Sisters and Rizzle Kicks first to be confirmed - presumably they will feature on BBC coverage?

Further to Cent's post above: https://twitter.com/rogermosey/statu...57483749191680

There should be fleeting glimpses of the BBC's Olympic trail/titles from tonight on BBC One. The full versions will follow. #BBC2012

As good as it may be, it will not beat the monkey.

I'm pretty sure reading a recent statement on NBC Press that the Opening Ceremony is 7pm ET / PT.

I'm assuming this has to be wrong because surely it would be live coast to coast when live in London, which is from around 4pm ET / 9pm BST.

And as usual i'm sure all their network coverage will be littered with commercials and recorded highlights.

Only 3 more live games for the BBC til 2014
Well, not quite. I think they've bought four Scotland World Cup qualifiers, although it is not very much for a 23-month period, unless they can snaffle up some others, which won't be easy with so many being tied up already.

No, NBC will hold it back for primetime. It will air 7PM all across the US.

If you were a scheduler for Itv, Channel4 and Channel5, what would you schedule against the Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday 27th July?

For Itv, it is best to have Coro St. one hour episode between 7:30 to 8:30 and then have a Touch of Frost repeat between 8:30-10:30. Why a Touch of Frost? This got 2million viewers against 20million+ England so should get 2.5million against Olympics Ceremony.

For Channel4, I say have Lord of The Rings between 8 to 11pm. This is the go-to movie for Channel4 when there are big events and can get a reliable 1million.

For Channel5, it is more difficult situation because of new shows Big Brother and The Bachelor airing. I say they should have the Big Brother eviction at 8pm so it avoids the Olympics Opening Ceremony. BB used to be before 9o'clock for some evictions in the old days anyway. Drop The Bachelor totally that week, Im sure viewers will cope fine with a two week gap between two episodes. At 9pm maybe show a movie rerun but I have no idea what exactly? Dancc what movies do you think could rate alright which Channel5 has?

How about hour-long Emmerdale at 7pm, hour-long Corrie at 8pm and A Touch of Frost at 9pm or repeat Lewis/Midsomer Murders?

The updated schedule for that week should have Superstar starting on ITV1 on 7th July at 7.25pm. If it doesn't have that, it probably hasn't updated yet.

For ITV I'd try and keep News at Ten at 10 o'clock - there's no BBC opposition so this would be the chance for ITV to take advantage and provide a service as it were. Maybe they'll drop one episode of Coronation Street (as they're slowly bringing back the Wednesday night episodes) that night and go with:

7.00 Emmerdale
7.30 Coronation Street
8.00 Midsomer Murders

For Channel 4, I agree that Lord Of The Rings seems like a good bet. If I was Channel 5 I'd keep Big Brother and The Bachelor in their slots. Big Brother got 0.8m against the England match, after all and The Bachelor is likely to lure in the non-sport loving younger viewers.

EDIT: Thanks, rzt.

The Da Vinci Code always rates well, but last shown only three months ago. (2009: 4.0m, 2010: 2.4m, 2011: 2.4m, 2012: 1.6m)

Not many watching TV at 9pm.
13.07 million watching TV broadcast between 9 and 10 on the main five channels (including HD [and adding in BBC HD for the simulcast of BBC 2], excluding +1), 57.4% of the total audience which was 22.8 million. Lower than we've seen but not out of line with summer norms, I think. If you can call this "summer"...
