The Da Vinci Code always rates well, but last shown only three months ago. (2009: 4.0m, 2010: 2.4m, 2011: 2.4m, 2012: 1.6m)
Do you know if Channel 5 have got the rights to Angels and Demons, Dancc?

Really great start for Line of Duty on BBC Two. Would be nice if it held up OK for them, though. The channel has had lots of similar sized successes with one-offs over the past 18 months or so, but they've not really made an entire series or serial stick for a whole run yet. Presumably to do with the more "challenging" tone compared to your standard BBC One / ITV1 fare, because it does seem to be a trend.

I don't know. I expected so but there's been some strange goings on with the film rights lately so I can't be sure.

The BBC (and Ofcom) define peaktime as starting at 6pm, so I think Eggheads is safe. It also rates well and is PSB (sort of).
I would hope BBC2 retain their current programming policy between 6 and 7pm, offering non-news programming aimed at an older audience, and offerring a distinct alternative to the other four main channels

However they shouldn't be competing with BBC1 for a daytime audience at 5.15pm, something that DQF will hopefully eliminate

and even at the weekend rather than offer continuous coverage BBC2 cuts to the same old repeats rather than stick with on court action.
Thats even more unexcusable when there are the European Athletics Championships on during Saturday late afternoon that they could be showing

For ITV I'd try and keep News at Ten at 10 o'clock - there's no BBC opposition so this would be the chance for ITV to take advantage and provide a service as it were.
The BBC News at 10 will be on BBC2 that Friday. There was a tweet from Roger Mosey about it a few weeks ago

What is the record for most people watching a television programme past midnight? Could the Olympic Opening Ceremony beat it?

Thanks. If they do have it I wonder where they'll air it? the Sunday after the CBB final maybe?

Ah, ok, thanks.

Even though BBC News at Ten will be there they won't be able to air the regional news then. I still think ITV should look to stick to a 10pm bulletin.

With Maria Sharapova in trouble, BBC2 look like they're going to scrap much of the highlights on Today At Wimbledon and keep an eye on the live action on Court 1.

Salv, maybe some people just been bored this series by all the nastiness in BB? Still 7 weeks to go, do you think it will drop below 1million near tthe middle or end of series?
It's already dropped down to under 1m once this series.

....against something that had 20 million viewers on BBC One.

I'm not a fan of Big Brother. but I guess the saying goes "don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument".

This football is so dull (with Martin Keown not exactly adding sparkle) that News At Ten might actually benefit from it over running
