but over the weeks, we will be getting the normal amount, just some additional and 1 hour episodes here and there, such as tonight a 1 hour EE, on a Wednesday of all days, as if returning to work on a Wednesday wasnt confusing enough.

So why isn't EE being moved to BBC2 and the ITV soaps to ITV2 ?

What did it average?

At its peak, 1.05 million (26.2%) 16-34 year old viewers were watching Channel 5.

Average for BB? Hopefully more than last years 2.6m.

Average for the Big Brother launch was 2.6m, same as last year's launch.

Last year's launch though didn't have a proper promotional campaign like this year's as it was coming straight off the back of CBB.

Ahh that sucks. Hoping for 3m.

Could have been a lot worse for Big Brother, so they will be happy with that.

I wonder what it will get with +1 figures added.

We are looking at another series averaging below 2 million again which sucks.

+1 not added then?

That is disappointing for Big Brother to reach the same average as last years launch after an extensive promotional campaign, it's peak was actually what I believes it could average, and the peak 18-34 audience isn't that amazing either.

Comparison:

Tuesday 4th June 2002
BBC One
09:25 - The State Procession: 5.74m (50%)
11:30 - State Service of Thanksgiving: 6.51m (50%)
12:55 - Guidhall Banquet: 5.0m
13:45 - Carnival in the Mall: 7.88m
* 18:00 to 18:45 - 11.1m (53%)
* peak: 11.6m at 18:30
18:45 - BBC News: 9.44m
19:30 - World Cup 2002 Highlights: 5.38m
20:30 - EastEnders: 11.36m
21:00 - Holby City: 8.22m
22:00 - Spooks: 5.99m (28%)

ITV1
15:30 to 18:30 - The Queen's Jubilee: 1.5m (9%)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Difficult really to make a valid comparison as the festivities went on much longer for the Tuesday in 2002. Plus ITV only came on air from 15:30 as they had a World Cup game, so difficult to tell whether things were up or down.

Assuming both peaked around the time of the balcony flypast, that's going to be another 11m or so viewing peak once you add in BBC News and Sky News. Remarkable figures again, especially as viewers might have been expected to have Jubilee fatigue by yesterday.

Not much sign of a real BBC backlash either, despite the green ink brigade being out in force after the pageant...

Had yesterday climaxed at 6.30 not 3.30 we might have seen a 10m+ BBC1 figure. But given how the weather turned in London, thank heavens it didn't!

losing 50% of your audience in 2 days is not a backlash? Hate to imagine what would be?

Why no ratings available for SKY News? I haven't seen a single figure from Diamond Jubilee weekend...

Because their ratings are low (less than 0.5m), no-one working for Sky will tweet them.

You remind me very much of an ex poster. What is this now your fifth account?

Quite the contrary, for at least 1 in 4 16-34 yr old viewers to be watching C5 is brilliant. They don't get anywhere near to that normally.
