*Weren't we thinking the eighteen months of hour-long Emmerdales were a ploy to force EastEnders out of the 7.30pm slot on Tuesdays or Thursdays, freeing it up for Coronation St when the football moved to Wednesdays a few years ago?”

Monday
7.00 Emmerdale
7.30 Coronation Street
8.30 Coronation Street
Tuesday
8.00 Coronation Street
8.30 Emmerdale
Wednesday
7.00 Emmerdale
Thursday
8.00 Coronation Street
8.30 Emmerdale
Friday
7.00 Emmerdale (60 minutes)
8.30 Coronation Street
No episodes are lost; every weeknight gets a soap lead in to the 9pm show (minus Wednesday's which will be effected by the football anyway) and yet the schedules don't appear so clogged with soap because they're more spread out. Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm may suffer slightly but Coronation Street would be able to recover the night; starting at a BBC One junction.

Lewis performed well considering the increased competition; the lead in obviously means more to the show than BBC One opposition. Emmerdale did well share wise and Coronation Street performed respecably. EastEnders seems on the low side in comparison; not even hitting a 30% share. BBC Two had a decent night as did Channel 4 up to the 10pm slot where it collapsed. If Big Brother can maintain that average Channel 5 will be satisfied; I wonder how much NCIS on +1 dented the main channel as that's a good rating for it?
