At first sight I was rather underwhelmed by the England rating although looking at how Monday's game did and the general lack of buzz and hope about the England team this time that seems about right really.

Emmerdale held up alright given the very low lead-in and that it started 30 mins into the game. Million Pound Drop held a decent total too but dreadful for the Lewis repeat! BB did reasonably later on, whilst BBC News didn't get as much of a boost as I thought it would.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on DS recently that Sky reckon 15% of any football audience is people watching in pubs so we could add that to the match average

That's Sky though and obviously they'd be a difference for subscription games and FTA games - maybe not so much in numbers, but certainly in percentages. 15% of a Sky game would probably be 100,000-250,000 at most, and I doubt that figure would be much higher for a BBC/ITV game - so in the grand scheme of things adds 0.1-0.3 to the rating, so not worth considering really for these such games.

16.25 million is excellent in today's cut throat market. However, I wonder if ITV had this rating, would the ITVistas say what a marvellous rating it was. Ratings are ratings and if a documentary about Stalin on BBC Four got 10 million( highly unlikely) I would congratulate them.

I often wonder if Emmerdale is heading into a crisis. It has always been an also ran to the big two and, for all I know the football would have hurt it last night, 3.65 million is poor. However, a lot of people say there are too many episodes, the acting is terrible and it looks too cheap for a 21st century show. Perhaps ITV should consider halving the number of episodes.

The ratings thread can be an odd one, people saying a 16.25 peak, and an amazing 14 plus in the game is low. Forgetting all the millions in a pub on a friday night, I watched it there. The overall rating was bound to be hit by the France-ukraine match being on the other side.

Also people saying 1.57 million on an eviction night is a good rating for BB. This is a show that regularly went above 6 on Fridays in it's hey-day. It's an average rating at best.

BB was scrapped on Channel 4 when its ratings fell to 2 million. Except for the hardcore fan base, no one else is bothered. It's a tired format and reality has moved on as a format from the stripped, nightly format that was popular 10 years ago.

1.5million seems to be the average now for BB.

It would be nice to have 2million though.

yes the rating is a little low, but ITV didnt hold up at all well.

Meanwhile Episodes should be better than it is, it does have one of the Friends after all, unless "Joey" really did kill Matt Le Blancs career, and god will with the Friends fanbase.

Although its throwaway TV, MPD has a very robust audience and only just edged under 1m (and is even above it with +1). Quite impressed that it only lost 0.4m or so!

Not sure why the praise for the BB figure. Some of the highlights shows this week have got a bigger audience. There is something seriously wrong when the eviction show isn't the most watched show of the week.

Completely forgot it was the eviction show last night! In that case, not so good!

It seems to be BB's natural limit now. Viewers have moved on and only the dedicated fans remain. TBH it is hard work every night, the format is exhausted and there's nothing barring a live murder that could bring most of the viewers back.

But that 1.6m beats pretty much every eviction from BB12 bar three or something and obviously beat last weeks. Not too shabby really.

EastEnders Omnibus got it's biggest FridayNight/Saturday Morning repeat with 609k (11%) 11% share is good for 00:15 is it not?

Could it be with the football, EE fans needed their fix more? Usually the omnibus rates far lower than this.

It was an hour shorter this week, so that probably helped.

I guess with the fact many missed the Tuesday & Thursday showing due to the football they decided to catch up with the omnibus
Next week could see the figure rise in this case as it's a Huge week for the show but sadly no huge figures due to the football and being in different slots.

anyone got the rating for EastEnders airing at 7:00PM before the England Game(which was on ITV) back in the world cup?

Terrible ratings for Emmerdale yesterday, only 3.6million hardcore fans. This is not good, even Inspector Lynley Mysteries has 4million hardcore fans.

As you well know, the latter was not against an England game.

Terrible? It fell lower in 2006 against non-England games..

Not quite a disaster, but bad considering CS did very well against a big match on BBC One. The Dale does seem to be hitting some new lows recently, and it won't be long before the papers say it's on its way out. The demos are fairly bad as well, with a strong rating among elderly C2DEs, the group advertisers aren't interested in. I think it's time ITV cut back the number of episodes and upped its budget.

But it wasn't an England Match was it?

EastEnders will nodoubt rate around 4/5m on Tuesday in the 7:00pm slot against England Match Build Up

Holby could get a record low (whatever that will be)

Im not an Emmerdale fan but i feel the need to stick up for it here. It was so obvious last night Emmerdale would rate low

One of the main problems for BB is that it is being ignored by the rival redtops, partly due to being past its best and partly being produced y the Star owner, at least in the past when it was being slated it was being covered.

Okay, fair enough. Emmerdales rating wasnt terrible, people just preferred to watch England match because it was a huge match.

Thankyou. That's not a bad EastEnders rating actually. Thought it was much lower than that. I think the BBC need to include Tuesday at 7 and Wednesday at 8 in their trailers though
