Very interesting. Town 102 causes much more interference to adjacent channels (101.9 and 102.1) than any other station. I don't know why that is, it's either because their modulation is particularly wideband, or is it because Town 102's audio is very loud. I would guess the latter. When I was in Stowmarket yesterday, very few spots could receive general scatter from Studio Brussel on 102.1 as all I could hear was Town 102! Grrrr! I dunno why they picked 102.0, as Ipswich is a stunning place for continental reception and there are continentals on 101.9 (Sky Radio) and 102.1 (Studio Brussel and Radio 538). Unless the listeners want to get interfered with by Dutch stations which may take over when there is tropo even in Ipswich.
When I was in Stowmarket, Town 102 wasn't particularly strong at the time, and the Ford car radio I was using is very selective, so selective that tropo signals can be heard in Norwich on 100 kHz adjacent frequencies to Tacolneston and SHC (both very strong in Norwich). It is possibly more selective than the XDR-F1HD. That just shows how much of a problem Town 102 is for Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex DXers.
