Lots of Spain then Portugal on the car radio coming home, practically right up to parking outside the house. Get in, turn tuner on, beam south. Dead band.

What else should I have expected from this joke of a season?!

I heard some of yesterday's stations again this morning, e.g. DLF from Aurich.

Earlier this afternoon there was a few strong Arabic stations with full stereo but no RDS on 87.7 87.8 and 88.4 suspect Algeria. Then a mix of weak Italian Spanish and Portugese station, all piling in on top of each other so RDS did not stand a chance.

Weak and unstable signal from WDR 4 on 100.5 here for the last 25 minutes. So this suggests marginal tropo to Germany.

MASSIVE opening ongoing from Italy at the moment. The whole band is chaos.

This is a crazy opening!!! 8:30 almost and still going strong!!!

Now Spain is coming back into the mix! at 9PM!!!

Yep! Lots of stations chopping and changing! Is anyone else getting tropo as well?

Yes Catherine, which makes it harder to find empty spots in the band, and more confusing too!

Just about dying out here I first noticed it at 6PM, so that makes this the longest, and latest E Skip I have ever experienced!

And to think I could have been working the evening shift, I would have kicked myself if I was!

Gosh that was a good lift, my T9990 doesn't have RDS, and I was too busy trying to see what else was there to settle for too long on any one frequency. I haven't had Arabic stations here for many a year.

I'm hoping that others might be able to help ID some of the above. Seems to have quietened down now (21:45)

About 4 years ago I heard E skip at around 10.30pm!

After going quiet the band has woken up again to Morocco & Spain.

Getting various things between 87.5 & 88.0 at the moment. Can't really identify as they're going in and out like crazy. Not much else further up the band apart from a few distant national stations.

Lots of signals from Spain & North Africa in the last hour or so here. Band is busy but constantly changing.

Been Italian soup for the last hour or two but some signals from Corsica and SE France have also sneaked through.

Still getting Arabic station on 87.7!!

Most of the activity I have seen this evening has been at the lower end of the band with signals from Algeria, Tunisia and eastern Spain. Mostly weak with very rapid fading and so no RDS. Signals just starting to fade out now.

MUF still over 108 MHz here to Italy!

Still getting some signals from Spain at 11:29 PM!!!!

It's just after midnight but I now have Spain right up to 108 MHz!

Edit: RDS from Gestiona Radio on 108.0.

Still getting an Arabic pop music station on 87.9 and a Spanish pop music station on 87.50. Both very weak with usual unpredictable fading.
