Band went crazy between 11:45 and just now, and it's dipping down, but this is the latest e skip I've ever experienced for sure!!

Hi all, not posted in this thread before but read it for a while. I was just driving on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire and found myself listening to France Inter on 99.8 and Onda Cero 98.5. I've never had this happen before so I was quite excited to say the least! Both were RDS level on the car stereo.

I was getting an Italian language station quite strongly on 107.2, interfering with Irvine Beat FM in Ayrshire and Awaz FM driving towards Glasgow between 6 and 7pm. Later, I had a French language station on 107.3 strong enough to display RDS for a short while before the RDS disappeared again. I think it said "REME &", but unfortunately I was too busy concentrating on the road to memorise it.

That was a fantastic opening this evening with a large part of Europe audible. Weighty, I also had France Culture on 99.8 with RDS, which would be from the Perpignan site. 107.3 was probably Rire et Chansons, either from Les Sables d'Olonne or Angoulême.

All in all I heard 15 confirmed countries tonight:

Oh, yes, I know that feeling all too well. Very frustrating, especially if there are unusual conditions or rare countries coming in.

At least in the last few days the season seems to have really got going so fingers crossed there will be plenty of other opportunities to catch good openings in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

RIRE - That's the one, thanks. I was surprised to see the RDS entry. It came through with a very strong signal, probably because there's nothing around that frequency here.

I heard Italy around 12pm and now I am getting Arabic stations but most seem weak!

Hope I don't miss another huge opening again tonight!

I'm just wondering if the 13B block DR DAB 2 has been heard yet this year in the UK.

Yes not really been using my radio much but soon as I powered it up just now there was a Spanish station on 93.0 which should be another station here.

The fm band is just complete mess the signals are really strong here.

I was listening to quite a few Italian stations while driving home, one came in with RDS on 88.1 but it was scrolling RDS and I only saw one part of it which was "SMS" then 3 numbers, so that didn't really help. Can't ID any of the others but I suspect one of them may have been Rai Radio 1.

A very strong SpE FM opening to SE Europe. MUF right up and over 108.

Driving to the shops got RAI Radio 1 on 88.5 RDS, plus two other Italian stations on 95.3 (playing "L'estate Addosso" by "Jovanetti" says Shazam) and 88.1 which was fuzzy music with Italian speech.

There's even been an Aurora Watch red alert !
