I'm getting the same Arabic chanting on 87.6, 87.7, 90.7 and 94.0

It's been a mad one tonight. When I got home the band was open to central Europe, the Balkans and north Africa simultaneously. This included a few Austrians and Hungarians. After a while the signals from the south increased in strength whilst the signals from the east fizzled and so it developed into a big opening to Spain, Morocco and Algeria. The odd Portuguese station also made an appearance. The band was absolutely jammed full of signals, including a Radio Adventista on 106.2 from Melilla.

Recently the Es have fizzled out.

50 MHz is lively. 70 MHz quiet so MUF between the two bands.

Is the 66 - 72 MHz band used much now?

The 66-73Mhz band is still used in Belarus Ukraine Moldova and Russia. It does come alive during SpE openings towards the east and southeast.

Meldrum, Durris and Bressay, and NRK P2 on 97.3 and 98.7, P3 on 91.8.

NRK Petre has been making it in here this morning on 91.8 and 91.1 but it's weak. Nice to see the Norwegian tropo making it down here.

An hour ago I heard pop music and Scandinavian-sounding language on 102.8 before it got swamped by Heart. Possibly P4 Radio Hele Norge from Bokn.

A few Germans as well, e.g. 93.2 NDR 2 from Flensburg.

Last night I had NRK on 98.7 and 97.3 also P4 on 102.8, today that fizzled out around 12PM and booming through came the Dutch stations which are still there, just had a brief RDS of DLF on 101.8 but the RDS has gone now

Dutch, German and Scandinavian stations all over. Even getting AIS ship data on 160MHz from throughout the North Sea, and as far as Hamburg, over 270 miles away. (Usually limited to 25miles at the most).

Motor racing on 87.70 MHz ???

Closest to you is Radio Donington, but that's still a fair distance.

I'm still getting NRK, P4 and DLF on the same frequencies as you were.

Today is the first time I've received Norway.

Think there might be something at Oulton Park ?? 87.70. Weak and steady.

I hope the Scandinavian dx lasts until tonight. Has anybody picked up any Scandinavian repeaters on 2m or 70cm?

I can hear the Dutch beacon 144.416. Someone has received it in the Faroes.

Now getting a weak signal from the Sound Digital DAB mux.

Also, York is there but too weak to hear anything.

Dutch all the way here in Peterborough at the moment. Also, Humberside and Viking. Radio York came through for a bit earlier this morning.

Been to Driffield, East Yorkshire, this afternoon - FM band there is full of Amsterdam stations - Veronica, NPO 1 to 3, Slam! and many more. Some also getting through on DAB - mostly NRK stations.

Also on DAB, a lot of stations from Eastern England including BBC Radios 3CR, Cambs (Peterborough) and Norfolk, and various commercial stations from the same areas.

Not so much back home in Malton, though late last night I was getting Radio Tay FM (Dundee) on 102.8...

144 MHz has Aurora, tropo and Es.

Wonder if you get NPO digital better at lifts in the North East now MXR has switched off on 12C.

Good DX! There was a few more, I had a couple of Norwegian ones on 94.2 (NRK P1, Bjerkreim) and one on 100.1 which I presume was Radio Norge.

I've been getting DLF very clear on 107.1 and I bet someone will know the transmitter name.

It's from Bremen, a city in North West Germany. That signal runs on 100 KW.
