RDS has now changed to CAPITAL.

Es have gone for now but it was quite busy at the bottom of the band. I had what sounded like a parliamentary debate on 88.0 from FYR Macedonia (presumed) with a mention of Crne Gore so MR 1 or 2. Some channels had several stations fighting and swapping. I also IDed Radio Kosova on 88.9 with folk music in parallel with their web stream.

And yes sleeper, the band is staring to fill up with tropo as well!

Surprised to hear Rire et Chansons 93.3 currently on my horizontal aerial via tropo from Boulogne. Virgin Radio 1 bar and noise-free on 91.5 too. The TDF nationals from here are 2 bars with RDS!

Edit: add Fun Radio 88.9 to the Boulogne non-regulars.

Another brief burst of Es with an unknown Balkan language on 87.6 a few minutes ago. Now I'm listening to Origin FM on 95.1 with a clear mono signal via tropo!

Could be an interesting evening!

Just got back home. Big festival in Skegness today & Olympic Torch relay, etc. to find Italy at the bottom of the band. Only the usuals though. Sinnai, Cagliari, Tempo Pausania, etc.

Good DX!

No Es at present here John.

Jack FM Herts is in on 106.9 though thanks to the tropo. Was trying to rain a little earlier too. All a bit odd.

France has subsided here now but just got a nice recording of London Greek Radio on 103.3 with ads and promos. Choice FM 107.1 is also in from the same site. Origin FM 95.1 is 1 bar and completely noise-free.

Hope the tropo keeps up overnight.

Sorry to hear about your cat Andy. We lost ours (19 years old) in February. It's an awful loss if you're a pet lover. We still have our two Rottweilers, three if you count my other half.

Italy didn't last long at all and only went up to 90.4. Another feeble non-event. This Es season is becoming worse than it already was.

Good DX!

Tropo has largely fizzled out now. Lille is still enhanced but that's about it. Perhaps that rain band has killed it off.

Spain now at the very bottom of band 2! Hold on ... wait ... it's gone. Scrap that.

Good DX!

Tropo picking up again - Boulogne back in at decent levels, Tournai fair/good and some of the indicators in the SE have improved.

Not much going on here today but I'll listen on the plane when I go off on holiday soon!

Wow, RDS from the Hastings relay of Radio 3 on 91.8! That's a first for me.

Tropo is good out west too as North Hessary Tor is causing the Guildford frequencies real grief, and I logged Palm 105.5 a little earlier, beaming east!

Have a good holiday Catherine.

Thanks John/Nick for your comments we had only had Molly for 16 months she was 8 years old as we got her from the cats protection after the our last cat died.

The vet said she had been poisoned so it has been a shock to us so I have made the coffin and dug the hole so we will bury her tomorrow.

On SPE front I have had a few stations but have recorded most of it but as John said it's very poor.

Could anyone shed any light on the following please:

https://www.box.com/s/aabf9d8e74de19d2650f - 87.8 with a music station (BIH Radio 1 is also in there with an ID). The music station fades in at the TOTH with an IS and partial ID before it fades out. Does anyone recognise it?

https://www.box.com/s/8c50ba144680fb7b2f40 - 88.0 with what sounds like a parliamentary debate. Crne Gore was mentioned so is this FYR Macedonia, and if so, which network?

https://www.box.com/s/ec4b5ed610f5d417c325 - 87.6 - one of the stations is Antena M from Montenegro but there are a couple of other unids. Any ideas please?

https://www.box.com/s/577bad8250d5a693f490 - 92.8 with news/current affairs px. A mention of Republika Srpska.

https://www.box.com/s/656e7acb7b93f2bf4bc5 - 87.6 - think there are 2 stations on here

https://www.box.com/s/96d5b51ff8402b88315b - 87.6 again, but what is the language or station please?

Any help always appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

All of a sudden the path to Egem has opened wide - 100% signal strength from the vert 3 ele in the loft on the Yamaha and 36dB-40dB on the Horizontal aerial with Klara on 90.4 at 45dB on the Sony SB920.

I'm even getting the stations on my Sony digitsl voice recorder (with FM radio) which uses the headphone lead for an aerial.

It was not like that an hour ago!!

What's it like your way now - I'm off to hunt for more distant stations

Still waiting for it to take off here. Conditions are up a little, generally, but nothing specific: Lille dropping out completely but the southern half of England is up a bit. Wenvoe is steady and three bars - probably the most obvious sign of enhancement at the moment.

Currently 20 degrees and very humid here. It's times like this I could happily take up naturism.

Good DX!

When we were in Devon I got that for the power its at Palm was really getting out far when we left a good 60 or more miles to the North East.

It's trying here but nothing special, the Dutch stations are coming in and out of the noise, Kiss is enhanced but nothing crazy!

It's a mad lift to SE England tonight. I just got RDS from Resonance FM for the first time ever with a PS of Res104.4! The band is very full!

At one stage 87.5, 87.6 and 87.7 all had signals, the latter sounded like an RSL. The first two are still coming in.

Edit: 87.5 has produced a PS of _Essex__ and IDed as 'Funky FM'. Mostly 1 bar, with the 2nd one flashing on sometimes. A typical pirate with a very low RDS threshold.

Edit edit: 87.6 is Playback UK.

Funky is a PAIN !! messes up both 87.5 and 87.6 for me.

And it looks like FM List has stalled probably overloaded hope it comes back to life soon.

87.7 is the Radio Wimbledon RSL - it's in quite clearly with analysis of the day's play. What sort of power does this run? It must be tiny.
