Quite possibly pirate Galaxy Radio from SE London (ex 99.5).

They broadcast quite a bit of US-sourced pre-recorded programming, usually very weird conspiracy theory type stuff. Can't tell if they're on from here since the signal is swamped in West London by Innacity Radio, also on 102.5.
Thanks smorris. I didn't realise they were still on 102.5. Seems the most likely explanation. Now the tropo is picking up perhaps I'll get a better signal from it over the next few days.

I am currently receiving Pontop pike noise free with full RDS.

Andy
Scrub the above I need a new pair of eyes as well as a new pair of ears.
I am receiving Classic noise free from Oxford 101.3 I thought it was 100.3.

I hope the Hepburn charts are right as well.

Nothing over the ordinary right now, I'm hoping the Hepburn charts are correct too, they're looking good for my days off!

Nothing out of the ordinary received here in Lincoln either. Mind you, there's not a great distance between here and Grimsby.

Let's hope we get some good tropo then! Radio 538 is just above noise levels right now.

Getting some tropo enhancement - including WDR5 on 99.70 from Kleve. Clear id and only 2kw - at 373 km. Received at 14:45BST.

Hopefully it will pick up a bit more in the next three hours.

Having the 4 way audio switch makes it a lot easier - I can instantly compare two frequencies and/or aerial directions from the three tuners.

I had enhanced reception to SE England and N France last night. Interesting reception on 87.7 with a weak but very readable signal from RSL Adur FM on 87.7from Shoreham-on-Sea - I presume this is just 25 watts? Also a pirate came up to similar levels briefly on 87.6 (I forget which one this is, Playback UK?). KMFM also came up to 1 bar strength on 96.2 from Tonbridge.

Fingers crossed for the week ahead!

The tropo forecast is now starting to look serious for the end of the coming week:

http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo_nwe.html

Assuming those charts actually happen then we'll be looking at the biggest lift since March. I'm not entirely sure, but aren't those colours even brighter than the charts that we got in March?

Just as well I have got 40 CD-Rs to record DX!

I am still receiving the blank carrier on 103.7 I swapped aerials around to check it's a receiver problem and it's not as it's the same on the Denon.

Also I was receiving a signal on 87.5 which faded up and could hear audio that sounded like a film soundtrack which abruptly went off at 01:02 probably a sender.

Belmont is giving me RDS tonight anyway time to hit the sack.

East Anglia is enhanced here with BBC Norfolk 104.4, 95.6 and BBC Cambridge 96.0 peaking at RDS levels, also fair signals from the usual TXs in Belgium/Holland.

Anyone noticed a slight hum on BBC R2 88.8 from Belmont?

The Adur FM RSL on 87.7 is up to 1 bar on the Kenwood this morning. Best signal from them so far.

Hi,

I noticed this on Saturday night while listening to Dave Pearce "Dance years". It's only happening on Belmont BBC R2.

Getting something on 102.1 but it's too weak for me to tell whether it's Radio 538 or Studio Brussel.

Studio Brussel is coming through on 102.1 as well. Q is rdsing on 100.7 and I've got something on 89.3 which sounds dutch and has just been replaced by radio 2.France is just under the noise on 103.7 and 105.2. Unfortunally still nothing from Germany or Denmark .

An amazing set of charts from Wednesday to Sunday:

http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo_nwe.html

Haven't seen it looking like that for years Could cause some disruption to FM/DAB/Freeview reception if that comes off.

Hopefully this won't be downgraded...

It could be a great Dx weekend. Don't want to get my hopes up because Hepburn frequently downgrades just before it's about to happen. If its true it will be the best since late march.

I seriously hope it's a repeat of Sept 1982 when there was a high pressure system over the uk and europe and daytime temps were in the 80's for over a week.

This was the mother of all tropo as I was receiving DDR TV from Brocken on UHF CH E6/E34 virtually crystal clear for days and also switzerland +PTT-TS1 on UHF CH 34 and rotating the aerials S/E resulted in French TV on nearly every UHF CH.

I often wonder how the Hepburn charts would look like during that period if we had it back then.

If this happens I bet freeview will be no good at all.
last month I get Dutch and French channels coming up on the Sudbury aerial and its not even facing that way.

106.7 Langenberg fighting with the noise. It's the strongest I've had since I've been dxing with my limited setup. I could only dream of something like sept 82, although I thought you said it was 83 previously, the mother of all openings and analogue had that venitian blind effect. I guess I need to start keeping a log to look back on. I will never forget march 26th this year my first dtt Dx .

To get French and Dutch on the subury aerial is good going. I've only ever received Belgian tv from my current location.
