Does anyone else remember the absolute greatness of this song? As a launch into her 2nd album and into a more sexy adult look it was perfect. The follow ups didn't do much because she gave up (although "something deep inside" is awesome).

This song, with a modern pop overhaul, would still be massive today imo.

Basically, it just popped into my head and wondered if anyone else liked it (and the weird underground laundrette nightclub video)

I actually preferred her follow ups! Girlfriend was way better than Because We Want To and I think Something Deep Inside was better than Day & Night.

I used to quite like Billie back in the day. Her, Steps, Spice Girls, Cleopatra & B*Witched were the pop sound track of 1998!

Massive fan of Billie.

I think Day and Night was her most critically acclaimed hit, but I love Honey to the Bee and Something Deep Inside. I Dream (album track) is sweet too. I don't know why Billie is embarrassed by her music career - she was amazing!

I just downloaded this and a few other Billie singles a few weeks ago. Love this song, although it was very clear at the time that it was an obvious attempt at cashing in on Britney's early sound. As somebody has already said, "Honey to the Bee" was a tune and my personal favorite Billie song.

I don't think she is embarssed, it brings back bad memories from when she was on the verge of being Anorexic when her label put pressure on her to crack America plus she knew she couldn't really sing anyway

Day and Night was such a tune back in the day! I also liked the song Walk of life.

Yeah, I think she's found her passion in acting.

Her autobiography was a really good read, quite upsetting at times. Considering she's only 30 this year, she's had about four lives in one. I love her.

I have this song on my iPod. I loved it! It reminded me of Oops-era Britney. Maybe that's why I loved it

A lot of singles from the early 00's were produced by big name producers nowadays who were only starting out! Day & Night was co-produced by Stargate... the people responsible for some of Rihanna's biggest hits! Darkchild was also a huge producer back then aswell! I think that's why so many of these early 00's singles still sound relevant and modern!

Loved Billie's music career! I don't think she had a single I didn't love!

Ooh, thanks for reminding me of "I dream" it's a beautiful song, dreaming about getting noticed by her crush and just dancing with him.

Day and night was like "crazy" by Britney, but it's that cowbell sound that does it.

I apologize for saying "absolute greatness", what I actually mean is that it pales in comparison to unsigned drab music creating nobodies 1, 2 & 3 who are uber amazing and talented (until they get a sniff of success, at which point they lose all talent, become 'sell outs' and uncool) hipster nazi is sad.

I loved Billie Piper back in the early 00's.

I saw the Something Deep Inside video a couple of months back on the Vault (THE best cringe 90s pop music station in the world) and couldn't believe how dirty that song was.

Love Day and Night, have both her albums on my iPod still

I think it was her best single. Listening to it takes me back...although now I often forget that Billie ever was a pop singer!
