Simon Cowell is interviewed in Daily Star and he said that only the winner will get a contract and nobody else. He also stated that the winners song has already been picked.

Well thats a lie straight off, because Roberta has one lol. I also think it's stupid having already chosen the winners song. they all have different styles so it wou;dnt work as well as it did on Pop Idol.

I think he is talking about his record company only giving the winner a contract.

Roberta hasn't got a contract she has a management deal "apparently" but she wont get anywhere.

There's no point even bothering with Roberta just because she was on TV twice in one week big deal

I reckon *somebody* will give a deal to Tabby, Rowetta and Steve at least but not holding much hope for Cassie

........and it looks very likely that Louis will be managing G4 (he has said as much on This Morning)......noooooooo don`t do it boys. And I suppose if someone as high profile as him will be managing them, I suppose he will make sure they get a recording contract (if not with BMG/Sony than with another record company).

I think it is stupid that on all of these reality music shows the songs are picked before the winners are even announced! For example, imagine if they picked a song and Tabby and G4 were in the final 2. 2 completly different acts, and they will both have to attempt at singing this song. Like with Will Young and Gareth Gates, IMO, Will Young sang it better but Gareth Gates was more a Pop Idol. People voted for Will any way, because he sang it better.
In the end, because they have already picked a song, it is all about who sings the song better, not who has the X factor.

there is another tread that is following the opinion that the
show is fixed so Tabby will win ( yes I agree with this) then of the final song has been chosen. One that will suit Tabby and do nothing for the other finalist.

Unless they already know who is going to win!!

We also must remember that Simon 'wins' anyway, as he will be giving out the recording contract to the act in first place! But talking of contracts, relations between Louis/Sharon and Simon can't be too bad after all - seems as if they are signing with his company for a second series. Yes, Simon is their boss and pays their fees!!

Simon always says that don't worry if his fave rowetta doesn't win she will still get a deal

I think the thread should be shortened to Simon- the only winner. lol

lol, I seem to remember the lovely Mr Cowell saying this when PI was on...yet Sam and Mark ended up with a record deal as well as Michelle...I honestly think that if Rowetta didn't end up winning, Simon would still sign her!

Whatever!!! Like Simon would pass up the oppertunity to make more money. He would be stupid not to cash in on the contestants publicity!!

I laughed out loud when I heard a couple of weeks back Roberta was "signed" to Mammon's label...tee hee Mammon doesn't HAVE a label, and as for a management deal that will be worth about 50 pence in real terms.
Mammon will scarper from Roberta SO quickly she'll be over the horizon before dear Roberta knows what's happened.
Remember the "You WILL sign her won't you Pete?" bleatings from Thornton over the Rosie Ribbons debacle...yeah right mate!!!! what a crock.
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Scowell telling Verity there will be NO contract for her as in his own words "YOU just won't sell any records"
Props to him for that honesty at last!!!!! how refreshing.

Incorrect, Kirsty is signed to a management and PRODUCTION company. A company that produces and manages a large number of international artists too.

I would like to add a deal with a management and production company that has strong label ties is VERY valuable - such as Kirsty has. So any budding artists, don't listen to this comment - it is ill-informed.

Labels these days prefer to deal directly with productions companies who do all the A&R as it reduces their cost and to a certain degree, the risk.

Kirsty is signed to my management and production company - she has great talent and will release her first single very soon. This is based on hard work and talent - like the industry used to be. Not from a flash in the pan tv show.

If he's talking about S Records, then fair play to him. However, if he's talking about BMG, I'm sure, as discussed elsewhere, BMG could go over Simon's head and sign anyone they like if they wanted to - he's only an employee of the company.

I think Kirsty was the one with the really low cut(kylie style) black dress on, she reminded me of Michaela Strachan(spelling??)

She was ok i thought.

Yes, Im sorry, not good a forums. Just saw the post on google and was a little p*ssed of at such ill-informed comments.

Yes, Kirsty has spent almost 12 months working with vocal and performance coaches - something ALL good artists do all through their careers.

We also put her with a live band - as I believe music should be live, not just to some PA. During this time she has performed up and down the UK with her band doing live venues. This is to gain experience of an audience and working with a live band - how most artists used to work their way through the business - and we have made no exception for kirsty. It has made a huge difference to her development. With the band she started doing covers and now she is dropping in original tracks.

At the same time we have produced 5 original tracks with kirsty that have been very well received by labels and taste makes in the industry. We hope to release early next year.

We have just launched a new site for her, although it is in the early stage of development. www.kirstyofficial.com

I have only posted as there are many budding artists who will read a post like that and believe it. When my artist is working hard and trying to loose the PI weight around their neck in the traditional, hard working sense, then they deserve credit.

If you try and launch a career straight of the back of PI, it will fail. Kirsty is doing it the correct way, and will suceed due to that. Lemar did the same - he went away for almost 18 months and came back a great success.

So there is always hope for those that do not win these competitions?
