True Love

Just seen the promo of this on BBC 1, looks really good as it's got a superb cast, David Tennant, Billie Piper, David Morrisey, Lacey Turner Joanna Froggatt and Jane Horrocks.

Each episode features on a different story,

Can't wait

Does sound a good cast - when is it on?

Kaya Scodelario (well known for being in skins) is playing a love interest for Billie Piper. So excited for this show to start I quite like the actors/actresses who are in this; David Tennant, Billie Piper, Lacey Turner and Kaya Scodelario.

I've been looking forward to this. The BBC announced/filmed it absolutely ages go - it's taken so long to actually air that I'm wondering why.

Really looking forward to this. It seems a little bit similar to The Street.

Yeah it seems to be a very similar formet, each episode will feature different characters but there will be crossovers.

Gutted that David and Billie aren't sharing an ep!

I'll definitely be watching this as the cast is amazing. The improvisation theme interests me too.

It's stripped over the week at 10.30'ish, so don't watch on Sunday and then expect it the following week.

I can't believe the scheduling of this. Bonkers!!! It's going to do really badly in terms of viewing figures, I fear. I can't help but wonder if that's what the BBC wants.

I won't be watching it "live" that's for sure.

I'm also really fed up of the trend of shows being aired over consecutive nights rather than weekly. There is so little good stuff on as it is they should really be encouraged to spread out what they do have.

Yes not everyone has five hours to spare a week watching a series of a show that is brand new. It should be on weekly.

Each episode is 30mins. I think Wednesday's is a double ep.

Brilliant cast, can't wait!

Is it really only thirty minute episodes? Damn! I'm really shocked at that. It sounds/looks like something that should be an hour long each episode. Makes me wonder what the point is...hard to care for characters and a story who are just a one off/half-hour deal unless the writing and pacing are VERY good. Even then it will be a long shot.

And double episodes on Wednesday? So it's really only on for four days, making the experience even more short lived?

Losing my excitement over this, despite the amazing cast.

BBC did the same with One Night. Put it on after 1030 over a few night as if they were ashamed of it. Odd decision.

Hadnt realised it was 30 min episodes. Makes it sound a bit soap like. Agree about the stella cast. Surprised no-one mentioned the brilliant Vicky McClure

I'm paranoid enough by the treatment of a show with such a strong cast that the BBC know full well what they're doing and WANT this programme to lose viewers so they have an excuse to make less drama. As paranoid as this theory is, it makes more sense to me than any reasoning they might come up with to explain the bizarre scheduling and format.

I don't think they want the programme to do badly, they could not really put it on earlier due to the football and 10.30pm is not too late although i was surprised they scheduled it at that time and for only 30mins but if the characters are all connected in some way i think it will work.. also One Night was on this late but was one of the best dramas i have seen in a long time.

Weekday...more like 10.37pm.

But the main thing putting me of TL....it's improvised...

I have never even heard of One Night. Did it get much publicity before it aired?

I don't see why they couldn't wait until after the football to air True Love, quite honestly, and air it on a weekly basis. It would have made the most sense.

But they dont have to schedule it during the Euros, Olympics or any other event. They could have waited for a better time slot. Agreed that One Night was good but isnt it telling that Nyota hadnt heard about it because it was hidden away; a lot of potential viewers missed it and will possibly miss True Love.

Christ. Not that I'm against improvisation - but it can be so hit and miss. I was so excited when this show was announced but everything I'm hearing now makes me want to run in the opposite direction, to be honest. I am not someone who will judge something without watching but I have a terrible feeling about this.

Its not all improvised only partially.

Not too bad so far bit slow pace though.
