Did anyone think Luke was unpleasant to Deana, quite a few people on the MF seem to think he was. I thought he seemed a little exasperated by her, but was giving her sound advice. For all we know she may have been going on and on and on. He did stick up for her also. Am I blinded because Luke is my fav?
They all have flaws and I like to think I can accept this even in my favourite HM's.

I would like to think so. The clip of Adam, Lydia and Luke planning to fail a task was fun I think he is a lot tougher than we think. I like that we see emotion from him, both the ups and downs and in my opinion a healthy approach.

Hi Alicey and welcome to the thread. Unless something happens to upset the applecart (I haven't lost hope) then what you have described is exactly what will happen. I don't know which of the 5 would be the last man standing, but if it is Luke I fully expect him to persevere to the bitter end.

You can't experience the transition process without it toughening you up and preparing you for difficult situations. Believe me, the hoops you are made to jump through to get treatment are immense. He will remain steadfast.

He did sound a little bit irritated but I suspect, like you, that the snippet we were shown may have come at the end of a lengthy conversation rather than it being his initial response. I don't think we are blinded in any way, we just find his faults less aggravating than those of many of the others in that house.

Yeah I think he'd had enough and had tried being tactful and it wasn't working so just became blunt.

I hope that Lauren didn't nominate Luke. That would disappoint me more than Shievonne did last week.

Back! I accidentally banned myself for 15 hours by trying to link facebook to DS and opening a whole new account. Good lord. What a doofus I am.

I do think Luke was a bit curt with Deana, but for reasons I can understand.

1. He is not actually a terribly huggy housemate, which is a relief after the (several) incidents we have seen of a housemate hugging another one then slagging them off a minute later. So he was not going to do that "aww, come and have a snuggle" thing.
2. He is obviously really hating all the dramas, and having said his (very fair) piece about how he actually thought Deana had done all right in the task, he just wanted to back away from it all; Deana seemed to him to be bringing the dramas right back into his personal space, and he was deeply dismayed.
3. He hasn't seen what we have seen, not even a quarter of it, and has no idea how badly Deana is being treated.
4. The core garden group who really like and trust each other is only Luke, Adam, Lauren and (until Friday) Benedict. Benedict was notably cool on BBOTS towards Lydia and Deana, seeing them as pleasant company but hardly towers of strength. As we saw later, Luke will always listen politely to Deana, and given time was willing to make some efforts to cheer her up and make her feel included, but he doesn't see her as a trustworthy friend, and with some reason.

I know We will have to wait and see, If she did I will be especially after all the votes I gave her. It was such a rubbish eviction last week because of the two who were up anyway. I stuck with Lauren even though I kept changing my mind throughout the week.We know Benedict would never have nominated Luke, he wants him to win.

So close. A three way eviction between Lydia, Deana and Luke S really would have shook the house especially if the girls had survived.

I think they would have as people are so frustrated at being unable to get at the curry crew there would have been an avalanche of votes for them to get him out.

I understand her reasons, just would have been nice to see Luke S up.

I don't think he would just 'walk' it either, anyway there is always next week.

Small mercies: Benedict on BBOTS saying that Luke is the only person who can absolutely be trusted to say what he means. And Luke choosing the nastiest food in the taste task (pig's brains, urghhh) while other people chose things like scotch eggs and fruit salad, and being rewarded with a pot of jelly.

I love the way we are getting to see more of Luke's sense of humor, like when he was pretending to wretch during the food task and the his suggestion that they should fail the task on purpose I thought he came across very well in last nights episode. It's great that he is getting mopre airtime and we are seeing a more lighthearted side to him.

I liked the way he and Adam were really trying to make Deana laugh at the end as well. She had had such a rubbish day. I don't actually think they are wildly keen on her, but they are just kind people; just as in the party task Luke would not desert the undeserving Sheivonne and the belly dancer and join the much jollier looking party next door.

Me too I thought that was sweet of them. I also liked the way he defended Deana when Arron tried to blame Deana for not getting a better prize. it shows that he sticks by his principles and wasn't just saying it to gain favour with anybody.

Hello all - been sat reading on the sidelines for a while forming a longer term opinion on the housemates.

Really love Luke A. He's intelligent, he's genuine, and he's an all round lovely guy. I hope he wins, so he can use the money to complete his transgender reassignment surgery and become the man he should be.

Hi there and welcome. Totally agree with your lovely comments about Luke, and it would be wonderful if he could use the money for his surgery. When you have the operations on the NHS you have no choice as to the surgeon, or the timing. This would help him to have the best surgeon for the job and not have to wait years to have it done.

BTW do you really love John Sergeant?
