Wow - I just can't begin to imagine being in that position.
I never imagined we would be but thankfully we are in a great place now. Next big hurdle will be top surgery in Florida next year!

Like he said he is biting his tongue and it won't be long before he snaps. I just hope he does it in the right way and show them whose boss without coming across like Chris.
I know. I do get the impression that he finds it very difficult to be ignored and talked over so much, and really hope he doesn't just retreat to his bed for a week or similar self-destructive behaviour. I don't think he will be a Chris, but it would be easy to come over as having a tantrum or a sulk, and people can be oddly intolerant of quiet housemates suddenly having a 'moment', as if everyone has a pre-determined role and must never step outside it.

I'm not ignoring the very touching personal conversations in this thread, and just want to add my very best wishes to the two clearly excellent mothers involved.

He was funny on the highlights while they were doing the shopping slapping his forehead and flopping back on the couch. He was doing well to restrain himself. It must have been soooo frustrating.

I really really hope he gets to take charge of the kitchen soon. He'll feature a lot more.

Hi WD - I do worry that I am dominating the thread to a degree - but I do feel that maybe I can provide some insights into the experiences that Luke is bound to have had.

I too anticipate that many of those who are saying he is a waste of space and boring will be the first to castigate him (for not knowing his place - ie at the bottom of the pecking order) if he dares to stand up to the overbearing gobsh*tes in there.

We can only hope that he loses a bit of that remarkable restraint and tells a few of them straight at some point soon.

Please carry on. (If you click on the number of posts on a thread it tells you who has made them, and I promise that the person dominating the thread is...me...)

Probably. I have supported massively unpopular housemates at times, and the secret is to try and stay calm and go back to the appreciation thread if it all becomes too much. The forum goes into absolute feeding frenzies at times, and on the whole the pack will move onto someone else if you wait it out.

I do get cross every year about people moaning on and on about the quieter people 'ducking under the radar' and 'cruising to the final'. No, if they don't get the nominations it is because they manage the quite challenging task of staying tolerant and pleasant in a house full of people who are bound to annoy them at times.

I loved Aaron last year and the main forum could be a scary place at times so I really concur with this!

Well I supported Tom - and trust me it was ordeal by fire because there were only a handful of us against the might of the forum.

This place is a cesspit. Feral.

Under the radar doesn't really work nowdays with the vote to save. Boring people don't have that many fans. Best thing BB can do is put large groups up at a time, even the whole house and cut the dead wood.

.
Yes,it's frustrating how many people are so keen to pigeonhole people and keep the status quo.

I remember the reaction to him on here, when he told all the housemates he was born female. He was critised for being attention seeking and hogging the limelight, despite the fact he had revealed his 'secret' in the most low key way possible and had no controlling of the editing of the episode. Now he is accused of being 'boring' and fading into the background because he doesn't feature enough in the highlights show - he can't win.

Me too! We never get to see him cooking, which he obviously does as Caroline has made reference to him being a talented chef.

No, you're not at all. It's educational for those of us who don't have much knowledge or experience of this.

I too anticipate that many of those who are saying he is a waste of space and boring will be the first to castigate him (for not knowing his place - ie at the bottom of the pecking order) if he dares to stand up to the overbearing gobsh*tes in there.
I fully anticipate this too  I think a lot of FM viewed him as having an unfair advantage due to having an interesting backstory, therefore wanted him to fail, regardless of his personality.

There's a dance-off task at the moment and Benedict is apparently partnered with Luke. They have impressed judge Lydia with their "hip-hop vibe"!

I'm a BB purist who prefers it when there is no tampering at all, just nominations and public votes.

Chris said on BotS that he found Luke very funny when he got to know him. I'm hoping that they start to feature him more on the highlights soon.

Yes, hopefully once more of the housemates have whittled down, we will see more of him. I'd much rather watch him than, people constantly bitching and gossiping about the same thing and faux showmances

When they were showing the answers the HMs gave to the quizz he was shown once (got the answer right of course). He is being airbrushed out of the whole show. I'm getting seriously hacked off. It's like he sits in a corner, out of sight of the cameras, during all waking hours and doesn't interact at all with anybody at any time.

He probably got all the questions right and of course us viewers want to see people plying dumb and displaying ignorance as that is so much more entertaining and endearing

I agree it is so frustrating that he is not being shown more, I'd much prefer to see him and other housemates engaging in interesting conversations, than fighting and gossiping about each other. He is obviously popular and well liked by other housemates, I wish they would show more of him

It might get a bit perilous if things carry on like this, but there are worse fates than being overlooked in the first couple of weeks. It is a good time to establish your role as house nice-guy with the other housemates. At this stage (touch wood) BB would have to pull a horrible twist to get him up and out.

To be honest, it is always harder for the non-single to catch the editors' eyes. Luke will not have any romances (I hope), and they would far rather show us 96 incidents involving a couple than one involving a single person just having an interesting conversation.

Fortunately, I think there are a lot of people, who are in more in danger of being up for eviction than Luke, i think that Becky will definitely be up along side maybe, Deana or Arron. I hope it's Ashleigh and Luke S though. I think a lot of housemates don't shine until later on in the series, hopefully Luke is one of them and is given more airtime.

Trying to persuade the woman who eats all the food to nominate the man who cooks it, Caroline obviously isn't the brightest button in the box

Unfortunately I think she has some influence with her adoring coterie and they may be swayed. I hope not.
