Whilst most of the output isn't very good, these two channels do add a bit of variety, even if every ad break is full of Sky propaganda. I watched a classic 1987 episode of Going For Gold last night on Challenge, brought back some memories!

It would be good to see these channels added to Freesat, just for the fact it gives something else to flick past when channel surfing and there's nothing else on! I doubt I'd ever record or watch anything specifically on them though!

I think it's clear they will be staying FTA though.

If peter05 doesn't want to watch them, why doesn't be remove them from HIS other channels. He added them. He can remove them.

Take his solution, then many channels would end up encrypted and if no one wants to watch them fta, who would pay to watch them

Yes you are right I can remove, and yes other's may like these channels, My remarks were made because sky have so many channel adverts on pick tv, so I take back my desire for them to be encrypted, and have to agree choice is alway's good

Personally I don't think they are the best of channels but i'm sure somebody likes them. However, as these channels are not provided for viewers in France (and nor is Sky or Freesat as a whole) I would politely suggest you don't have much legitimacy to complain about them, in my opinion.

I would say, if you think I should not be a allowed to have an opinion on digital spy, you have every right to contact them and ask them to remove me as a member,

But these services, including Sky and Freesat as a whole, are not provided for people like you in France anyway.

By all means express an opinion (if you can do so politely and constructively) but do try to bear in mind before you post that these services are not provided for viewers in France.

I have allready said SORRY for that post and said it was wrong for me to say anything about any channels being encrypted as all FTA channels are good for someone,

But you seem to have a personal reason for attacking me, because I live out of the uk, but I lived in the UK for 40 years and may one day return so what happenes with Uk broadcasting does matter to me and many thousands of other expats.

I acknowledge your apology for those breathtaking comments, I genuinely hope you will refrain from such inflammatory language in future which will benefit everybody.

The only point I make is I urge you to remember that these services are not provided for you anyway, if and when you do return to Blighty then of course you can legitimately comment on the services and content provided for us.

i hope that challenge and pick tv do get put onto freesat epg together with their +1 channels just to give a little bit more choice especially to those who would watch the wrestling on a sunday on challenge. i am sure there are those who dislike these channels but they are not forced to watch them. this does not mean that those who do like to watch should be stopped by others from watching them.

Pick TV and Challenge may not be the best FTA channels available but to me they are a welcome addition. 4 more channels when I am channel surfing and I have found myself staying on Pick a few times as Modern Family and Futurama are pretty good as is the latest Stargate series they have shown.

Certainly better than Travel which still seems to have the same program line up from when it was a Cable channel back in the analogue days.

Are these still ftv? I'm considering Free sat when my $ky subscription is up in September and Challenge is one of the channels I do watch (only for Tna).
