Adam explained that his sisters were watching BB and told him what being in BB involved ie sitting around chatting, doing tasks etc and he thought it sounded like fun. His family said they would go with him to the audition but they backed out and he ended up going on his own. It was only when he got through the first audition that he found out there was a chance to win money too. The interviewer, who did not know that he was born in Britain and had not seen recent BB series, asked if he had seen sides of himself he didn't like while in the BB house - he said no but there were some disgusting human beings in there and it showed what some people will do if there is a chance to win money and the cameras are on them. He said it was certainly a life experience and he would do it again but would not want to go through the audition process again.
Adam said that he had travelled to the States and back from the age of 6. Because he was going backwards and forwards, he didn't see parents as much as he ought to have done. It was in the USA that he encountered racism for the first time, he was chased around classroom, called the n word and had to stand at the back of class - behind the white kids in the queue I think. He now speaks on behalf of the Foundation for a drug free world based on his own experience of using drugs. The campaign is called the Truth about Drugs. Adam says he believes he became addicted to drugs because he had no knowledge of how they affect you. He started with cannabis (his first experience with it was in this country) and this led to other drugs. He struggled through school, at church events and socially in general because he wanted to get high - he wanted the instant gratification the drugs provided. He ended up homeless and on streets, going to adult jail when he was just 17 and turned 18 in prison. He saw people aged 25, 30 even 40 getting out of jail and realised he didn't want his life to be like that so he turned things around. He was a trained counsellor in States but is not certified in this country although if anyone wants help they can contact him via twitter and he will try to help.
Hope this describes what was said ok.
