What ever problems Sony have I'm sure they won't let it interfere with their console and games side of the business, probably the only profitable sector they have just now.
Sony's big mistake (from a gaming POV) in my opinion is the Vita, does the world really need it?? It's before its time imo. |

IE9 is fine. At least the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version's still a bit of a dog though.

I like the 64-bit version. Although to be honest. I don't see much difference between that and the 32-bit version.

They are all sitting in the XBL Apps Marketplace as optional extras. It's not as though you get a popup message each time you switch on your console saying that you must download the app for YouTube or Facebook, or Crackle or something else, or you'll be disconnected from XBox Live. IE is a mandatory part of Windows, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be on the XBox360. |

Now there's literally NO need to own a PC! (joke lol)
I'm looking forward to this so much because I think MS will make the world's first decent console browser. It's something I will certainly make use of. |

No word as to whether you need a Live subscription, but then it's not really worth having an xbox without it imho.

Of course it's Gold only. MS can't have Silver members experiencing premium sites like YouTube, Facebook etc for free...
It was confirmed on Monday at E3 by Eurogamer. |

Good thing I'm a gold member then. For a little over 50p a week it really is worth it.

Least it's a proper browser instead of that "thing" on the PS3.

XBox360 to get its own version of Internet Explorer ... ? Yes ... it's an existing thread. Not exactly difficult to find, especially as it was only on page 2 of this forum. |

Why would two threads on a similar subject possibly irritate you so much? |

Dupe threads are pointless, especially when there's still a very recent thread available. If someone starts a new thread
about something that's already been discussed in a recent thread that still easily available, that is just sheer laziness. |

It won't be something I'll use tbh especially as it's IE which is my least fave browser.
I don't hold much hope for it being much better than the ps3's browser

I have no issues with what MS are doing here. The stats show that more and more people are using the 360 to watch videos and as a general entertainment hub, despite hard-core gamers claiming that no-one would be interested in using the console for that.
I have 4 360s in the house. NONE of them are used to play games. And if not as if adding the likes of IE or Netflix or Lovefilm is affecting game frame rates or having other effects on games. |

Actually IE 9 is a decent browser imo, I certainly prefer it to Firefox which has become bloated and resource hungry. It's a fast, user friendly browser. It's improved a hell of a lot since I last used it back in the day.

My IE9 keeps asking me about addons everytime & start it & there is no "do not ask me again" option that I can find.

Another possibility is that software has been installed or updated that has included a new add on. |
