Ooh all kicked off on Bridge Farm tonight.

Tom really is a spoilt and selfish prat - he's gone and jeopardized the whole farm, including his parents' business now.

I know .. big surprise. Perhaps his head was too full of Brenda and a possible reconciliation leaving him paying not attention to his ordering of supplies?

... just listening to the omnibus and I've changed my mind about Peggy.

A lot of you are absolutely right - she really is an interfering, s***-stirring old cow!

I was just going to post the same.

In general terms its wrong for parents to show favouritism between children.

I am seeing different side to Peggy. Loved it when Tony put her in her place about the meeting.

Does anyone think that slimey Rob has an agenda?. I think he will buy Tom out and get into intensive farming to make more money. He doesn't appear to like working for Charlie.

Ooooh now that'd be a Machiavellian development.
He does seem very much on a smarm-fest with Helen; perhaps a softly-softly approach.

I'm disappointed that we didn't get a proper "Woah Noah" from Ruth re. the new road going straight through Brookfield.
She just screeched 'Daaaaaaavid!"

Also does anyone think Charlie fancies Adam? They're getting very pally and Adam seems a bit confused by Charlie's coy compliments.

Adam has a track record of being easily led astray.

Rob's smarm-fest with Helen is certainly sickening. Has he asked Jess for a divorce yet? I have missed a few episodes.

tom sold his business. they can sell the pigs.

no harm done to Bridge Farm. I presume either Tom wanted to leave, or there is some other plot device. No hint of apology from Peggy. I would have had a big time row with my mum, by now.

Rob has an Agenda.

They won't carve up Brookfield - there'll be a protracted planning row, Lynda will be being Lynda on some committee, there'll be some corruption doo-dah and problems with the estate.... and after all that's done they'll build the road through Penny Hassett in the end and Ambridge will be fine.

I reckon Rob has his eye on Bridge Farm. He wants to get his feet under the table while Tom's away then he'll seal the deal by marrying Helen

I don't think he will be pleased Helen told her parents they are engaged. He told her to keep it to herself.

Great to find an Archers thread. It seems to be getting popular again.

Glad Tom Archer has gone and hope, if he ever comes back, its a different actor - there was something awkward about his diction.

Yep agree Rob has an agenda and Helen and Peggy have been duped.
Reckon he's got his eye on Helen's inheritance. Smarmy git.

Yeah she's being a proper interfering old busybody.
But that's where the Archers is so good - I find that characters are so well-rounded and realistic, with both qualities and traits. All to often characters in dramas and soaps are 'goodies' or 'baddies', but hardly ever in the Archers.
So, last week I was getting really narked off with Peggy and her incessant meddling and patronising, but today I felt kind of sorry for her at Jack's graveside, telling Lilian she felt that life had little purpose for her anymore. Essentially she's bored and lonely... hence perhaps all the meddling in other people's affairs?

Same with Tom. He really gets on my nerves, but he's likeable too, in a kind of hapless way.

I think he will return. They haven't really resolved all that 'John' issue yet.
