Pat needs a slap. Actually Pat needs to be returned and this imposter taken away. Pat would not have trotted over to the police like that. She's not stupid, she has a militant history and will know better than most that the police will guide interviews etc.
But even that is nonsense. It is portraying it as the police fishing to get only the information they want to make THEIR case. And I know in some high profiles cases that has happened and I know its what many people think the police do, but it really isn't. Their job is to investigate all angles and they would be as interesting in finding evidence of provocation or coersion as Anna will. The police are (supposed to be) in the business of getting a 360 view to find out if the public interest is served in prosecuting. It is not their role to stitch up a candidate. I was called as a witness for the prosecution. I did not see the incident and I never made a statement. Of course the case was thrown out the moment the fiscal mentioned my statement. So please forgive me for not agreeing with you. The police were desperate for a conviction. |

There definitely used to be little bits chopped off the omnibus - if I hadn't listened much in the week and listened to the omnibus as well I did notice missing bits, but I'm not sure now as I either listen in the week or catch up on the iplayer thing.
If people only ever listened to the 2pm repeats would they miss one episode? I don't think the Friday evening episode is repeated - but I could be wrong. ![]() Must say that Rob's exchanges with Henry tonight were pretty scarey. Its definitely a shocking and gripping storyline imho. |

Ditto! I think it very strange that Henry is allowed to live with Rob. If Helen is deemed unfit because she might influence him, doesn't that also apply to Rob?

Helen & The Family Courts
Can't Helen apply to have Rob's parental rights revoked? Surely if they are legally applied, then they could also be revoked on her application and evidence?
Also, will Helen be allowed to keep the baby with her? Without knowing the circumstances as we do, wouldn't the Social Services be obliged to assess whether she was a risk to the baby and ask the Family Courts to decide whether she can keep the child? |

Convicted prisoners used to be allowed to keep their babies with them until they get to 2 or thereabouts (providing the mother doesn't pose a risk, of course). I see no reason why Helen should be denied keeping her baby with her, she hasn't been convicted of anything yet. She would have to be transferred to a prison with a mother and baby unit though, if there isn't one where she is. |

Is that the original story, or did Rob change it himself? I haven't got round to buying the original stories yet (they're on my 'wishlist').

Yes, it was originally a wicked mother, not stepmother. They're very dark stories, utterly inappropriate for children imo.

Urgh Rob clearly leading Henry on, trying to skew his memory of the bath incident.

The Grimm ones must have been horrendous then, because a few of the Hans Christian Anderson ones which are suitable for children are quite dark. The Red Shoes for instance - she has her feet cut off and they dance off without her. The Little Mermaid has her tongue cut out so she can grow legs, which are painful to walk on. She can't tell the Prince that it was her who saved him, so she has to watch him marry someone else, then she becomes sea foam. The Little Match Girl (which makes me cry every time I read it) has the little girl light matches she is trying to sell, just so she can try and keep warm, and she sees lovely images in every flame, then she sees her grandmother and lights all the matches, and is found frozen to death the next day.

Re the sick pay. Does Rob have an employment contract or did he just start working there without so much as a by your leave? I don't remember anything being formally done. They should speak to their solicitor about that. I wouldn't want to give him and his mother a brass washer.

The police are top notch soap police
If you watch any TV soap this is exactly how the police operate, like they already know the guilty party and go hell for leather to prove it. They are invariably very, very stupid. Mind Pat is trying her very hardest to compete for most stupid. She had already experienced the police twisting what she said to suit their preferred version of the story and she had gone out of her way to employ a really good and sympathetic Barrister for Helen but when the police asked her to come in again she decided with no sensible expectation really, that it was so she could give Helen's side of things I suppose she forgot that she has no idea what Helen's side is as she didn't notice anything and was in fact very much on side with Rob most of the time.Did she really think the police were just going to let her wax lyrical about what an amazing daughter Helen was and how she could never hurt a fly therefore it must be Rob's fault somehow I'm almost pleased the police played the stupid woman like this because she does actually deserve it. All she had to do was speak to the barrister before hand and none of this would have happened but instead she decided what the police wanted and what was best to do legally. God with allies like Pat Helen really doesn't stand a chance ![]() ![]() Pat thought the judge or whoever should have said - Now Mrs Tichenor, you're accused of a very serious offence, but your mother assures us you won't abscond or interfere with witnesses. She also encouraged us to look at the whole picture - how the rest of your family, the farm shop and the tea room will suffer if you're locked up. Therefore you can go home until the trial. In fact, maybe we should forget the trial and just declare you not guilty now ![]() ![]()

Bluebeard was the one that terrified me as a child. But even the cutest version of Hansel and Gretel is horrific too.

Afaik, Children's Services only apply to the courts if they want to remove the child. They would almost certainly assess her.

I am sure Rob will go for custody, the way it's going he will get it.its all on his side. Have we got to wait until September , when Helen goes on trial for an outcome or, will she go to prison for a couple of years then Rob will have disappeared with both Children.
I can't believe Helen will be found guilty of something so serious. It just wouldn't be The Archers, where people generally get what they deserve in the end. I can imagine Rob leaving the court after a not guilty verdict and running off with Henry though. If he's got a residence order, he wouldn't even be in the wrong to take him on holiday and let Helen freak out for a couple of weeks. |

Omg, the possibility of Rob doing a runner with Henry and the baby had never occurred to me.

Rob is influencing Henry it's disgraceful. I'm thinking it will be the court case. Henry (I think) has experienced more than we know and his final testimony will be damning, as will Jess's if she is involved. |

It's all part of the dramatic tension. They will demolish Helen in order to make a dramatic turning point in the story.
