I do really think that is what Helen is trying to portray it's just she's not doing a very good job of it in my opinion, well her and the script I suppose.

I wonder if Helen is going to bond with the baby. The way she said 'Hold Him?' when Peggy sugested that she might hold him later made me think that she wasn't too keen.

They've all been remarkably restrained. Had she turned up at mine, spreading her poison, I woud have poured forth the most unspeakably offensive torrent of words you can imagine. She would leave thinking twice about turning up uninvited like that again.

Re. Helen - she won't bond with the baby. She can only think of Henry.
I also imagine that Spawn reminds her too much of Depraved Rapist and Fetid-Hag-Face.

I thought last week whether she might swap Spawn for Henry. Sounds logical.
If she really doesn't feel any connection with Spawn then it might even be better to pack it off to Rob without a fight, but demand Rob relinquish his parental rights over Henry in return.

I can hardly tell Pat and Helen apart when they're bawling and moaning about how terrible things are for them. The apple didn't fall far from the tree there I wouldn't be at all surprised if Pat loses her rag and stabs Granny Arsula - maybe she and Helen will end up on the same wing in the nick.

I couldn't help laughing at Rob's deluded rant about Helen, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what his next sinister move will be regarding young Gideon

I think Helen will bond with the baby, and that maybe that the thought of losing him to Rob will make her come to her senses, such as they are, and start to put together a decent defence.

Have we heard anything of Ian since Helen stabbed Rob? Has he asked Kirsty or anyone how Helen's doing?

If Rob should end up looking after Helen's two boys (), Henry'd better watch his step around Gideon. I can't imagine Rob or Arsula being very understanding if he feels pushed out by the new baby and takes his rattle or something. Maybe in that case Henry would be better off at boarding school

Not a (Tom Archer) sausage. One of the less believeable plot lines in my opinion. Ian is another whose behaviour in ths story line has been way out of character. He has always been a pragmatic and forgiving sort of chap, yet he cuts Helen out of his life for not giving him the heads up on his partner's indiscretion but seemingly carrys on with said partner as if nothing of real importance occured. As a plot device it so doesn't hang together for me.

Why though would a man want custody of another man's child? I don't understand Rob's attachement to Henry.

Ian has gone the way of Freda Fry, along with Usha and Kathy Perks.

Kathy used to be really good friends with Pat, she would be rallying round and joining the wail-fest if she hadn't been cast into airwave purdah.

Ian would have been very supportive, too.

Manipulation. Firtstly it was a way to gain more influence and control over Helen.

Now it's spite and an attempt to influence Henry as a witness.
I don't think he really feels attached to Henry - it's an affectation, like his affable act with everyone else in the village.

As others have said, Henry would end up side-lined and even neglected were Rob to get custodi of spawn too.
