I must have missed the bit where he became a contracted employee. I thought he was just "helping out" after leaving his real job and bit by bit was helping out more and more?

yes and he wasn't helping anyway - he was interefering and causing headaches for Tom and Tony.

So why does he expect sick pay? I wish, wish, wish, Pat and Tony would take a stand. They can't do anything about the current Henry situation and that's hindering their thinking. Maybe it's going to be up to Peggy to make a stand.

I am pretty sure she sold it to Usha. Goodness knows where she - the village lawyer - has been through all this.

Yeah she's on the 'inexplicably absent' list, like Ian.

It was part of the Berrow estate wasn't it?
Bridge Farm was as well but was bought by Pat and Tony.

I always thought that too. Why Pat and Tony just rolled over and allowed them to be persuaded into giving him sick pay is beyond me. Surely a quick phone call to find out their legal obligations would have been sensible. Rob and his mother are bullying the whole family. The sound of Arsula's voice sends chills down my spine - she has a very menacing silky voice.

Agreed. I hate her simpering, soothing tones. Viper.

But they don't know what a vile piece of work Rob is. Helen hasn't spilled the beans yet.

Rob really let me down. I was convinced he'd get Gideon registered first. He's losing his touch.

It really showed his arrogance though. He thought he had plenty of time to register the baby and in his arrogant little mind he obviously thought that Helen was legally irrelevant.

Yeah hag-face belied that when she exclaimed "Isn't she locked up?" (or similar) about Helen.
Yeah well, registrars can travel, you dopey old bitch.

I thought Peggy would have picked up Rob's snide little remark about Helen always being a sickly girl, and said something to refute that.

How satisfying that Rob's solicitor has told him that Helen had every right to register HER name, and how very creepy when Rob said "she'll have to be persuaded, won't she". I fear for little Henry.

Another thing, wouldn't Helen's family know all Henry's friends? Why didn't Peggy ask which one?

I thought I detected a slight change in her tone after Peggy had dropped the naming bombshell at Blossom Hill Cottage. Ursula was discussing with Rob whether he was well enough to look after a new baby and he should concentrate on getting better first. Rob flew off the handle and it was almost as if he was bullying her too!

Well I think he will. It seems to be a family trait. Rob's father was pretty domineering too. I think Ursula is somethig of a Stepford Wife.

Carl Gustav Jung? Gosh I didn't know you needed a psychiatrist to register a birth from prison!

My OH registered our firstborn hours after the birth and he didn't have the 'red book', so it must be possible that Rob could have had the opportunity to register the birth - Helen got the better of him on that, at least.

Rob's turned on Ursula before, and his father talked to her as if she was dirt.

Find it hard to feel sorry for her though, remembering the way she was so venomous to Kirsty at Bridge Farm. She deserves what she gets.

Red book? Pardon my ignorance but what does that mean?

You're given a red book which has the baby's birth vital statistics on it, as well as the NHS number, and places where vaccinations, health checks etc over the years are entered, as well as remarks made by the midwife and health visitor. There are also height and weight charts up to the age of 20, so you can see whether they're growing properly or not.
